Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Blockchain - Hyperledger Fabric

Hi, I'm an outsider looking to get in, and have been following IBM's contributions to the open source Hyperledger Fabric project. Anyone have any insight/opinions on it, and/or the teams working on it? It looks like there's a lot of cool activity in the works, in the financial and logistics areas at least, probably others as well. Any idea which groups are hiring? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

We are shedding about 10% of our headcount every year. The pie is getting smaller. in every respect. Is this a company you want to associate with?

@vqi speaks truth - there are cool projects but things are so volatile, it's hard to advise on anything if there is literally zero stability around. Things are managed Q to Q and if earnings continue to deteriorate, they will cut to the bone.

Also, this site is mostly for disgruntled folks - I'd assume that, if you are on Blockchain, you will likely not be disgruntled... google this string and try our luck over there:

There are individual projects in IBM that are cool and fun. If you're lucky enough to find one you'll probably enjoy it while it lasts. But the project might end tomorrow when this week's executive decides he/she doesn't like it. And if it's not this week's executive, you'll get a new one next week and THAT one might kill it on a whim, so you live every day wondering if your work will ever matter. Of course, once the cool, fun project ends, then what? You'll probably be laid off, or put on a project that's a nightmare. So don't join IBM because you see one good project unless you don't plan to stay long.

Run....Read all the posts online. Nothing at IBM is cool, unless you like Financial engineering.
