Thread regarding McKesson Corp. layoffs

Stop sitting on your hands and get mad!

EIS lost about 360 dedicated employees on March 31st. Some of them have worked for Paragon for decades. Some had gotten lazy and needed to be let go years ago. Others of us were true assets. None of that matters though because the fact remains: They were RIFed because executives want to increase their own personal profits in addition to pleasing shareholders. The sad irony is that a good number of American employees who were cut were also shareholders because they believed in this company and its mission. We have all been betrayed.

None of this would have been possible without deliberate abuse of the H1B visa program. Good American jobs have been handed over to low-skilled Indians in direct violation of the visa requirements. And the Remainders will face the same thing within the year. It's long past time to stop complaining and to stop assisting off-shore in their efforts to steal our jobs. Get mad and stand up for yourselves!

The biggest power McKesson and EIS have right now is secrecy. McKesson RIFs rarely make the news because they excel at deceit. Start spreading the word and let the Healthcare IT community know what's going on!

Contact your local newspapers and tell them what's been going on.

Contact your Congressmen and tell them what's been going on.

Contact the hospitals that use our software and tell them what's going on. Explain to them how patient safety is being sacrificed for corporate greed and contempt of American workers.

Contact the Department of Justice and Attorney General Jeff Sessions and tell HIM what's going on, and how H1B has been abused.

Contact President Trump, Steve Bannon, and the Trump administration and insist that they severely penalize corporations that sacrifice American workers by abusing H1B visas and by off-shoring our jobs to India through companies like TCS.

Stand up and fight against this corrupt organization that stabs its workers in the back while telling us that it's all going to be OK. The more passive we are, the more they take from us. Not mad yet? Watch that 60 Minutes video and watch the Indian head of the 'consulting' company laugh at the stupidity of Americans for letting their jobs be taken from them

Then do something about it!

I'm curious about how many H1Bs are still in our offices. EIS / TCS seems to have shipped a lot of them back on 3/31. Perhaps Nimrod envisions shipping it all to India now that Trump is in office. This administration needs to start penalizing companies that offshore, period. The website for USCIS is definitely signalling a change of tone when it comes to companies like MCK.

Employers who abuse the H-1B visa program negatively affect U.S. workers, decreasing wages and job opportunities as they import more foreign workers. To further deter and detect abuse, USCIS has established an email address which will allow individuals (including both American workers and H-1B workers who suspect they or others may be the victim of H-1B fraud or abuse) to submit tips, alleged violations and other relevant information about potential H-1B fraud or abuse. Information submitted to the email address will be used for investigations and referrals to law enforcement agencies for potential prosecution.

McKesson does discriminate against employee age. McKesson does cheat employees out of pay. I know, I was both. Can mention in any correspondence that McKesson has been sued how many times before for not paying employees that which was legal and well-deserved.

Just rif'ed myself but there is no recourse as you are going thru it, sign the papers and get your severance or don't, and get nothing. Anyone know what the hotline number or email is?

The DOJ recommended that people call a hotline if they see discrimination of U.S. workers on the basis of their nationality. Similarly, the USCIS asked that tips about visa abuse be sent to a newly established email address.

Someone should invite him to EIS offices in GA, NC and CO! Every empty cube was once a place where an American employee sat.

This is too little too late for those that just got laid off. Maybe the next round of RIFs will benefit.
