Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

What a disastrous quarter for HPE... Sorry for the guys that are still there, but I am SOOOOO glad to be out of that mega mess...

Finally Wall Steet is recognizing that all these layoffs - and the strategy of becoming a "box" seller - have been a disaster for the Company. It's incredible how she dared to blame ‘execution issues’ as one of the factors... I can easily see her resigning (or being kicked out) either on Q4 or Q1 2018. The sad thing is that she'll leave with millions and millions of dollars as the "punishment" for incompetence. She literally destroyed HPE... I think - eventually - stakeholders will sue her and the whole Board. She knew all of this was going to happen. She was counting on Clinton winning the Presidency to leave behind the mess she created before everything started to implode. Now it's too late... Great job, Meg... Congratulations... You have just destroyed not only a pillar Company, but a technology legacy... a legend...

Couldnt agree more I work (just about holding on) for HPE and its a hell hole. The dont give a damn about their staff just the fat cats at the top lining their own pockets.... They also dont care for their customers sick to the back teeth of all the corporate rubbish they keep dishing out!

Hey @zgp Don't be so hard on yourself. Well, I should take my own advice. I relocated to take a job here at HPE and I've been kicking myself ever since. It's not the right fit for me and I've been here 2 years. I'm looking, trying to find new opportunities, applying left and right but the job market is tough right now. Morale is pretty low on my team and across the board. A year ago at this time, I was cussing myself out, calling me stupid, idiot, and every name in the book for having taken this job. I'm more complacent this year but I am still planning my exit strategy!

The downfall this quarter was predictable. I work for an Order Management team supporting EMEA EG products and there were way too many orders that were to pushed out because of subcomponents shortages. Most customers would forgive 1 push out, but when you fail to deliver on 3 or 4 changes to "committed" dates... Well, you know what's going to happen... I had a lot of cases like that in Q1, and Q2 is not looking any better

Everyone knew that the two acquisitions announced in the last weeks were just a desperate attempt to distract the market from the Q1 results that were going to be communicated. Meg's desperate attempt obviously didn't work... Poor employees of those Companies... They don't know where they are getting into...

Try and get your old job back? If no "burned bridges", it can be done... I did it myself, albeit with a 5-year stretch in between...

The HP-HPE split made sense tome, but since day one I thought spinning off Services and Software from HPE was a big mistake. Add to that laying off thousands and thousands of the same experienced employees (the "old" people) that kept this boat floating for so many years, and I don't need to be a genius to foresee that it won't be long until HPE is bought by a private equity investor and sold in pieces to multiple Companies. Meg will be remembered in technology history as the person that put the final nail in the coffin of Hewlett Packard Co...

I am SO FURIOUS right now... Not with Whitman, but with myself... for leaving another job five months ago for a few bucks to come to this chaos. That was the worst professional decision I've ever made... BIG MISTAKE! Everyone in my Organization is frustrated, overwhelmed, scared, and applying like crazy to whatever job posting in the area shows up. I am so furious with myself right now...
