@2wmz - You must have missed the fact that this thread is about a German site. Germany has labor laws that basically eliminate the possibilitiy of an "involuntary" separation. The people in Germany who got ISPs could basically sit them out. You can't fire anyone in Germany without extremely good reasons. There are still people on Intel Germany payroll who got ISPs half a year ago, and those peole have no intention of leaving.

@LjgjFf7-1orh. You must mean VSP not ISP. Nobody who got an ISP in the US at least was able to try and sit it out. VSP (voluntary separation package) could decline and wait to see. ISP (involuntary separation package) is just that--involuntary. In the US they had about 15 minutes before their laptops were confiscated and they were walked out of the building by HR. Some sites had armed guards on the ready too.

but it looks like intel is done fudging around. They simply terminate people now with a package. of course those people can go to court and they might even win. but HR knows that most people won't do that.

I think it's safe to say this is ACT2, @akk. Or... maybe a better way of calling it would be ACT 2016 & ACT 2017. That's clearer to people because last year's ACT isn't over. BK said it would happen in various ways THROUGH mid-2017. We aren't there yet.
Personally I prefer calling them by the year, not 1, 2, 3, etc. i
@rqj - Any specific details on the packages? If they are much lower than last year, it might indicate this is actually the first phase of ACT2, as far as I know all or most of the people laid off last year as part of ACT1 got the same (good) packages.
I'm not surprised @rqj. We've been hearing for a while now that packages going forward aren't going to be as good as ACT 2016. Well, at least for the near future. That might change years down the road.
People who got laid off in Nuremberg today didn't get nice packages. They have some time to look for internal jobs, but then they are out. And there really aren't many internal jobs right now.
