No company has given such a great severance package for those recently cut. You all should be more appreciative and not bash BK and Intel. You all had a good ride through the past 3 decades with very few layoffs compared with other tech companies. Please move on and stop complaining.

Both 2015 and 2016 actions were scumbag, evil, borderline illegal. BK is pure bad karma and will get what he deserves, in this life or the next.
I agree with the poster who commented on the 2015 layoffs. That Intel action was a sham lie. The 2015 action was illustrative of Brian Krzanich and who he really is. He can't hide inside Intel forever...
The severence packages were in return for some positive press but mostly for your agreement not to file age discrimination or wrongful discharge claims. No company including intel is benevolent especially to people it just fired. Wake up. If it loved you you would have more than five minutes to clear out twenty years of your life.

He is retreating to servers a strategy destined to further erode competitive position!
Intel silicon was the envy of the world with 4 year lead. Today TSMC and Samsung have caught up. He is from TMG but TMG has failed to keep the lead.
He is launching initiates all in commodity low margin areas where Intel is destined to be destroyed while losing billions.
They can't even break even as you can see in tablets and phones and prefer half a$$rd efforts losing billions and than giving up. Not the effort and execution of the once great Intel.

BK was one of the key bad actors going all the way to 2005 SET. He's been cooking this mess for 10 years.
Forget 2016 and ACT, I hate BK for 2015 and the stealth ISP's plus no-rehire clauses. Nobody would have even known if it wasn't for the Oregonian leak.
That, and standing in front of everybody during the BUM and saying that stock levels have been used in the past for performance-based job cuts. They haven't. Ever.
OK, yes, the severance was pretty good. However, the layoffs were actually pretty constant over the last several years and many groups were shaved well below reasonable limits, again and again. The gist of most of these threads, however, are pointing to BK, deservedly so, for having essentially zero strategy for Intel going forward. And most of these arguments have merit.
So, yeah, severance was decent. Intel as a company and tech leader, used to be decent.
You shouldn't complain when the slow kid drops a deuce in the pool because it was such a nice pool?
