If you didn't see this coming in June '14 when Williams bought Access, you were in dreamland. Two major offices 100 miles apart? No company is run that way. You should thank Kelcy for getting you an extra year sitting around OKC. This should have happened in Nov '15. Severed employees will get severance based on their total service -- probably including time served at CHK. Pretty generous. Most Access employees have hated Williams since Williams bought Access. This is the final break.

Really glad a laid off in April from the OKC office. Landed a higher paying job with a much better ran company. I feel bad for the Access-OKC folks. Life was good before Willie came in. So will the remaining OKC employees be laid off, or will they have the option of transferring to another location?

I agree with everything said about access Midstream. It was an outstanding company that was spun off of Chesapeake Energy. We had fantastic raises and bonuses and it was a great environment to work in until Williams came and everything went to s***. So glad to be out of there.

this is the truth and I hope all the Tulsa folks who are in high spirits about the OKC office closing realize that.

You're wrong - Williams didn't create an OKC office to grow anything. The OKC office was inherited due to a buyout.

OKC office was formerly Access Midstream which was a spin off from Chesapeake. Access was Chesapeake's midstream company and was taken public then spun off from CHK. CHK sold their ownership in the company and Williams bought it up along with Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP). Williams then bought out GIP. THAT is how the OKC office became Williams - I know this, I lived this.

Access was quite successful and profitable without Williams. In fact, part of the reason Williams bought Access was because it would hide Williams poor performance. Access employees had steady growth in salaries and bonuses due to outstanding performance. Look at the stock prices also, industry leading. Then Williams shows up and everything goes to sh--.

Way to ruin a company Williams.

A huge expense iis running up billions in debt because you do not have the experienced staff to grow organically. Part of the reason for building up okc was to develop the personnel, products and tools to grow organically in a cost effective manner. This takes time and dedication and long term planning, that is not a huge expense it is part of doing buisness in a smart way. What doesn't make sense is to do this every two years and start over from scratch again every two years in a different company location.

you proved my point, it is very expensive to overhire and then turn around and fire everybody.

The OKC office is a huge expense. I think it makes perfect sense to close.

ThiS company needs to invest for the future, and stick to its plans, excessive short term cutting to make quick profits will backfire in the long term. A blind man can see that.

Bad timing as always, Williams is always behind the curve. Chk stock has recovered and OPEC is coming to terms. The bust is over and a recovery is on the way, why would Williams be cutting back at this tine, certainly not due to market conditions, more likely bad management.

Retirement announced, closing OKC within a year or so is my guess. Some to go to Tulsa, some out the door.
