This applies to ALL races.

Intel's diversity goals are making Mr. King is roll over in his grave.

@ann, everyone loves to quote NBA, NFL, MLB but what they forget to mention within our life time there was a partied in sports Jackie Robinson, as a example. If we had meritocracy we would have more women, Asians, Indians etc....whites would be 10% maxr. All the data shows whites are over represented for skills set. Even Steve Jobs was Syrian and Apple is doing well vs John Scully

This is the first time I hear abut ROAR . I can't believe that they let the first interaction with the company for non URM men to be excluded from this workshop. I would feel left out

I think diversity is a mindset that employees have to learn and buy into. And creating these special programs and closing it to some employees is directly in opposition of inclusion and what the real goals of diversity should be .

Mandating a diverse inter view candidates and mandating a quota for hiring can be reasonable. But once they are on board ,, creating these special clicks are not a good idea.

This is a very destructive, distraction to Intel's goals. The most important objective of any company is to remain profitable, or go out of business. What good is diversity if the company is out of business. They can then make the excuse that they did not retain the best talent to keep the company afloat. Imagine if an NBA basketball team, or NFL football team initiatives were driven by diversity. It'll never happen. These teams buy the best available talent to reach their business goals which is to be the best.

While great in principle it is the clearest example of stupidity at the highest levels.

Intel is a technical company at its heart. If it is to maintain leadership they need the best talent working. It they are also willing to keep a lot of deadwood around to meet diversity goals then great, but than the stock and other indicators like revenue/employee will be busted.

So BK in his infinite wisdom, layoff the old and expensive and put in place agressive goals where managers are under so much pressure they are hiring qualified URM and passing on the best candidates. This is like Nick Sabain deciding he wants to save the world and hires white, Hispanics and Indians because they have played and know football but not the best. He won't be winning the Anymore nation titles, what a joke CEO. What a bunch of morons on the BOD to allow this to happen.

Her promotion to fellow is a clear example of also what is broken. You should get promoted based on results. There is no data showing Intel is better and more competitive with a diverse workforce. On the contrary as it has brown more diverse the worse it is. We have Blacks, Hispanics and woman hired and promoted and not pulling the weight required compared to their better peers. The company is finished for sure against the likes of TSMC, Samsung, Apple, Qualcomm and others!

While this is a laudable effort, it appears that it has taken on far more importance than developing and keeping the technical prowess and vision that elevated Intel in the first place. And that, my friends, will be the end of Intel.
