Intel will announce record earnings this week defying everything that the haters have been saying about them.

The older folks got great packages and either retired or got the lead on new jobs! Wait for ACT2 and ACT3 where the young starting families got to get cut and there are 20000 to 30000 of them and it will be ugly and life changing terrible times and BK will be infamous, LOL

Then why did they layoff so many innocent hard working people? They had blamed declining business. Now I think it was just a ploy to bolster the stock and throw older employees to the curb.

Can't wait to see how they account for 10nm, LOL

I consider and plan to keep my tenure at Intel short ... am thinking about Intel in months and per quarter. Just need to know what this quarterly bonus payout 😎😊😘 will be. Can't wait for tommorrow. No doubt, this place will be alive and thriving with posts following it.

@JSX9zth-2pku 5 years horizon more like the next 5 quarters will be the worst in hiatus for LTD and TMG as 10 brings them to their end

TSMC and Samsung have 10nm production and ramping latest SoC at billlion chip volume level while Intel fabs sit there spinning 14nm retread x86 where sales are down 8 straight quarters.

Severs growing in low single digits instead of double digits and Intel continues to waste billions in commodity memory, IoT, and modems. It will be an exciting 2017 and 2018 when the write offs and failures are realized and the next ACTs are implemented and BK and Murthy gone as the ones that ruined Intel. They will make off with hundreds of millions and have their vineyards and yachts while the VPs will have their multiple mansions to retire to, what will you have, 6 weeks of salary and COBRA is what you will have.

Intel may do well in the short/medium term -- tomorrow's Q3 earnings will give us a hint. But if companies move more work to the cloud, that'll hurt Intel as oversized internal IT server infrastructure silos geared to handle individual peak loads are replaced by multi-tenanted cloud setups that handle peaks across groups of customers with fewer servers. And when the next big recession hits -- and this next one will be a doozy -- Intel will have big challenges. The next 5 years will be a bumpy ride.

The layoffs will continue ...

SILENTLY 😐😑😔

People are being let go,

then,

few weeks later...

new reqs are created for new hire to fill the same vacant job !!

Lay off or no layoff, i hate being here, can't wait to leave. There are too many things wrong with Intel, a long time established company (which should already have BASICS of work environment correct) with no fix in sight. All talk, no action or results. Do nothing dumba$$ directors and managers can't even get R&R (Roles and Responsibilities) correct, dumping work on people in team they are able to bully.

@1vrg - You got that right! OP and @1kbe (maybe it's the same person) are brown-nosing, azz-licking, yes men.

OP and 1kbe are the kind of disposables that Intel managers love to keep. That's what is taking Intel to the ground.

I hope that they do have record earnings so the stock stays high.

Yeah. And we know that in December 2014, BK also announced record earnings (primarily generated as an outcome to Windows 10 introduction). Six months later was the initial "silent" ACT. OP does not have a clue what he is talking about.

Have no fear more ACTs are coming

It's possible due to server sales and less catastrophic PC sales.

For the last 16 years, the CEO and upper management always said that Intel made record profits, but in the same breath, they always said that there is little money for raises, and that the profit sharing contribution will only be 6% or less, and that your health care costs are going up, and that the Bonuses and RSU grants will be smaller. But you are expected to work harder next year and pull in schedules and cancel your vacation time. Meanwhile, they will spend billions buying back Intel stock, a stock that has been stagnant since September 2000.

x86 sales have dropped for the 8th straight quarter. Do you Intelers think the company can compete with TSMC and Samsung or the Chinese companies work ethics or cost structure when your CEO thinks chasing URM is more important than good employees.

Beyond servers where Intel has a lock for one more process generation nothing is looking good; 10nm is dead, 14nm cost and yield are below target, ARM servers are arriving on 10nm. IoT, modems, memory and foundry continue to be trending to billion dollar flops.

Yup the future is looking bright!

Stock market isn't forward looking, happy to be dumping my opinions and RSU.

How is 10nm doing, future looks bright doesn't it, LOL

Could be, but still doesn't change the fact that medium to long term growth prospects are grim at best. I took VSP based on that fact and not the short term quarterly results or stock price.
