The Devry earnings call was expected to be some time between October 20-24. This will be brutal, even if no one asks any tough questions--because every word is transcribed. My guess is that Devry will need more time to "work" the books. But creative accounting only works in the short run.

DeVry is still engaged in fraud, but of a different type. A visiting professor told me that she is receiving multiple email messages from students who were enrolled in classes without their knowledge, then administratively dropped after the first week and charged huge drop fees. This is classic fraud, the same as Wells Fargo signing up customers for fake accounts without their knowledge. I hope someone from the DOE reads this and launches an investigation so the abuse will stop.
Devry earnings call is November 1st, one week before the election and two days before Career Education Corporation and Lincoln Group. Will they lie big and wait for the next quarter?

The emergency meeting was bogus. It was nothing but a repeat of the exact same information we got at the "huddle" last week. Just telling us how we're supposed to talk to students who ask about the Dept of Education settlement and reassure them that there were no concerns over the value of a DeVry education and that this settlement does not affect our ability to serve students.
Even less credible points were also made: enrollment is increasing and the DeVry Tech value proposition is going to save us.
