Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Indian workers with H1B VISAs replacing American workers is illegal and is a winnable case if multiple people file a class action suit.

Ex Disney workers have already filed suit against Disney with hiring H1B VISA workers which the program was specifically intended to fill unfillable jobs. It was not meant to displace workers. Anyone know of any information should consult with an attorney and have others report it as well, who are also displaced by the same crime. HPE is illegally taking advantage of a program as America is full of job seekers who are fully capable to handle the same positions. It is frankly cowardice to just not say anything about because you guys have an opportunity to take down a giant that is obviously committing fraud and if this giant loses, the other dominoes will begin to fall. It just takes a bit of courage. Speak up!

You got it wrong, @1obm. The issue is not with any race (not at all - at least not to me). I agree with you... The title of the post is inappropriate... The issue (again, I'm speaking for myself) is about the concept/theory behind H1Bs, and how they are abused/exploited by Companies. There's no "talent gap" in this Nation - especially as it relates to IT skills (think of software development as an example). That's pure BS... If you are good at what you do, that's perfectly fine. If the cost to hire you lower than comparable skills and experience in the US, well... But, having this as a program sponsored by the government because there's a talent gap, and we need to remain "competitive", that is a mega big BS....

The H1B is for all foreign nationals and there are many other people than Indians are working here in this category. Why the f--- Indians are targeted always...are we doing anything wrong except doing the hard work ...is this not a globalized world....America is not doing business in India or not selling any products to India....stop the dirty blaming on Indians and f--- your own job bloody people....I mean only the bloody people who indicates Indians as H1B and blablabla....

Loyalty is dead. At all levels of society. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones. If you get a better deal from another business, another employer, another country, or whatever, do what is best for you. Period.

Corporate America (and the government - regardless of which Party is ruling) have done an amazing job favoring the economic interests of companies Most of the current laws protecting employees date from years and years ago, and were pursued by valiant people that decided to unite and go against the system. Especially after the 90s, a culture of "acceptance" have been the rule, and layoffs and H1Bs are simply forms of abuse (masked under the excuse of the need to "stay competitive"). Then, if people revolt against the abuse, they are seen as brute, irrational beasts, incapable of "negotiating" as adults. The few rights that we have nowadays are because of brute, "irrational beasts" people that decades ago decided to fight back. Unfortunately, most Unions nowadays are simply jokes, full of corrupts that only want their personal benefit. Unfortunately, I don't see light at the end of the tunnel. People won't organize effectively, and the abuse will continue. It's sad to see how everything is falling down in an endless spiral... America is ruled by Wall Street and by the Countries that we owe tons of money, and it will continue that way, regardless of who wins the Presidency in November. Under the premise that we won't be able to organize effectively, then the next best option is to focus on your best interests (and the ones for your beloved ones). In terms of HPE, that would simply translate into seeking better conditions and stability by looking for another job ASAP. That's it... The options are staying voluntarily, or leaving (forced, or triggered by yourself). There's nothing in the middle... Good luck, everyone.
