Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

What do you think of this? https://hbr.org/2016/07/how-dell-hp-and-apple-rediscovered-their-founders-vision

I don't agree that Meg and HP should have been included in that article. Neither HPQ or HPE represent the core values of our founders. Those glory days are well behind of what we have become.

@2hgu - I fully agree with your prediction of what will happen to both HPI and HPE. It's really scary to think how that would translate into headcount reductions in the next 3-5 years. I don't know, guys... I think the message is VERY clear... Actively look for another job while still working here (as your search will probably take some time), and when you get an acceptable offer, simply go without even thinking about it.

Apple and HP/HPE have both lost their way, anybody trying to say otherwise is either willingly ignorant or just plain stupid. As for Dell, well, didn't they just get picked back up by their founder?

The main thing apple has going for it is momentum and strong corporate culture. It continues to drift off and miss the boat on innovation - the process is just slow.

The most ridiculous claim is about HP/HPE, which I suspect, in the end, will turn HPI into a brand to be sold off like Polaroid, getting stamped on Chinese goods, and HPE into a shell that will get swallowed up by another corporation as soon as the no-sell date is up, after Meg has run it through her chop shop.

Stupid article is stupid.

It's a miracle that you haven't been twrown a "Stop trolling". There's a Meg @##kisser always lurking this site, that would consider this illegal anti-HPE propaganda, and will do everything on her/his hands to discredit and censor you. So far she/he has been extremely successful with other posts, to a point that this forum has been silenced. Corporate: 1 / Employees: 0

85,000 families, not 85,000 "people". It's amazing how easily most people reference layoffs as if they were tracking a game score. Each one of those 85,000 layoffs (did you just hear that well? Eighty Five Thousands) represented a lot of pain and a radical life change to at least half a million people. Meg, you might be very proud of doing the right thing for the investors, but don't you even dare to imply you got back to Bill & Dave's core values.

Is it just me, or does the author positioned Meg's 85,000 "people" layoffs as a good thing aligned to the founders' vision? I should be wrong in my interpretation. It can't be...
