Thread regarding FMC Technologies Inc. layoffs

I'm seriously confused about something regarding Western Region.

Can someone explain to me why there hasn't been a single "management" employee RIFed as far as I can tell. In CDM at least, the only people cut thus far have been frontline workers. Anne-Christian, Landis, Bernie, Dagg, Sam Clark Broduss and all the other dead weight that represents no add value or project contribution; they just continue to collect their big paychecks and try to find secure spots for themselves.

I love reading the FMC page great entertainment. Hate to see people lose jobs but this company needs a reboot that Technip will provide.

Lol. Yeah, I'm well aware that Bernie went to Services, I included him because he was however with CDM and actively in CDM management for the first two rounds of layoffs that previously occurred. Why do you seem so aggravated? Are you an FMC Manager? One that after reading this has come to the realization that you yourself can't do the jobs of the people you have walked out over the past 18 months?

Did your hocus pocus Success Factors math also tell you that Bernie is still in CDM? Because he's not. He's in SDS now. Get the facts straight.

My math comes from looking up the org charts on Success Factors. And then averaging the high and the low ratios in CDM. It's not that complicated. As far as having an "ax to grind", other than watching good people walked out by managers that can't do the work, I don't have anything to be upset about.

Agree with @IlyTtm0-2qfe. And @IlyTtm0, sounds like you have an ax to grind. Not even in the know enough to know where those CDM employees are any more in the company. Sad. Go be a hater somewhere else.

@IlyTtm0-1fyr, you sound like you're a WR employee yourself so why are you throwing stones? Seen the price of oil lately? Why are you so shocked to "hear about" other smaller RIFs that are supposedly coming? If you're shocked, you're no more intelligent than those with "padded credentials" (as you called it) in WR. Just saying. And @IlyTtm0-1sin...where did you get your numbers...sounds like fuzzy math to me.

The Western Region has always been a place where people with padded credentials jockeyed for advancement. Most of the time they spent was on moving up rather than on products or projects. CDM is a textbook example. I just heard that still smaller layoffs will occur and possibly another major RIF around October.

Well orange you smart? Gag me with a f---ing chainsaw. "Sharp Interpersonal Skills"? I haven't heard that buzz phrase in like a dick year. Well I hope they can set torque on a wrench and turn it because they are going to have to do some work themselves now. 4/1 managers to workers is about right.

Maybe managers can clean toilets and let the cleaners go. Interpersonal skills? Like smirking as security walks employees out? Great interpersonal skills. I'd said something like "They have great financial reports, or they have some great organizational skills" (They don't have those either). Interpersonal? You were kidding right?

If you were serious please explain their skill sets individually or take a hike.

True, I don't disagree with you at all. Except we are well past "the first few rounds" of layoffs. The most recent layoff represents the 6th or 7th RIF since the beginning of the downturn. Management to employee reporting ratio is currently at like 4 or 5 to 1!

Most of management have demonstrated very sharp interpersonal skills to the decision makers above them. They are not and do not have to be the best clamp hand. Everyone is in self preservation mode right now. Those who talked their way to the top won't allow themselves to be removed in the first few rounds of layoffs. This isn't unique to FMC. There is no giant scandal here.

Its already been explained on other threads here. FMC is ran by a cartel of crooks and parasites. They have to protect one another because while front line workers played the game by the rules they didn't and they have dirt on one another and will protect one another. The workers? Easily disposed of, but if you notice none of the layoffs make FMC a stronger or better company. Its having the opposite effect, but slowly and surely quarter by quarter they are painting themselves into a corner.

I would love to watch the disaster that would be that list of names trying to execute even a small controls system project much less something of scale. Hahahahaha, what a joke.
