ITT Tech "Placement" Numbers May Make Matters Worse/FTC Reporting

If ITT Tech's "placement" numbers with ACICS are fudged, they are just asking for another investigation by the FTC. I am already receiving comments from students who say the numbers are bogus.

Devry, a major competitor, is in major trouble with the FTC for making false claims about its job placement rates. Corinthian Colleges, which went bankrupt, lost Title IV funding after similar issues.

If anyone knows how these placement numbers were manufactured, please let me know. Better yet, write to me (anonymously if you want to) before sending a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission.

Would be good to talk to nursing school graduates, from campuses like Mobile, Alabama. Looks like placement rate includes lots of non-RN jobs.

Mobile's "Campus Accountability Report" is at https://www.itt-tech.edu/downloads/acics/112.pdf

Mobile, Alabama nursing program has licensure pass rate of only 33%, but placement rate is 75%. Salary spread is $17,000 to $55,000 according to salary disclosure for prospective students, with average of $35,000.

Looks like entering the nursing program is a gamble -- winners are those who graduate, pass licensing exam, and get a job. But lots of nursing graduates don't pass the exam and are "placed" in low wage health care positions. And with retention of 71%, and graduate rate less than that, plenty of people are saddled with debt but don't have any degree.

ITT-Tech must put all their resources into fudging facts, trying to beat the latest regulations, marketing, and legal fees. No money left for education. Time to shut this cesspool down.

I know for a fact they counted the job I already had as 'placed' even though they had nothing to do with it, and my pay didn't change at all.
