My wife knows someone VERY, VERY close to him (did I say VERY in capital letters?). It looks like Bill was not shy at all on stating his disagreements with the direction the Company was taking. In more than one occasion he made reference to how the Company continued to minimize the impact of disgruntled employees, and that it was imperative to fix that as a high priority. She wasn't able to confirm if he was fired or not, but for sure he had differences with the top level that were irreconcilable. I would bet he was given the chance to leave with honor, or be kicked out on shame...

I wish him the best. The whole Industry needs more people like him... People that still believe that the most important assets of any Company are the customers and the employees, and not the personal greed or being a short term slave of stakeholders. Bill... I echo @1exg... You are my hero. If you indeed were fired, I am more than sure you'll have a much better job in a much better Company really soon. Thanks for being here with us. We'll miss the L3 guy... :)

Ba ha ha ha! Fight the power. F#&% HPE. I love a rouge manager. Hats off to you Bill. I have survived all the layoffs so far, they took 7 more from my org Jul 28th, despicable. It's like watching Rome burn.

Nice... A controversial rebel!! Bill, you are my hero!! He is even on Wikipedia!!! - "Hilf made a number of controversial statements in his Open Source role at Microsoft, claiming that "The Free Software movement is dead...Even Linus has a job today...",implying that free software is equivalent to freeware. Albeit a controversial position, during his time in this role, Hilf was recognized as one of the 25 most influential people at Microsoft." Sir, I wish you the best!!

This makes so much sense now... He has deep roots in Cnet, as he once worked there. That explains why Cnet was always first spreading "official" rumors... Wow... Who would have thought...

His official "BS" statement for the press... “For me personally, when I joined, I made a commitment to build the cloud business here at HP for three years, and I’m now 3 years and one month in, and we have had very strong growth – just this past June HPE Helion was recognized as a leader in the private cloud market for the third year in a row. So this is the right time for me to help move the technologies and teams more deeply into the company, and to pursue new opportunities.”"

Bill... I mean, "L3"... Any comments or inside secrets today? Lol! Identify yourself once again as L3 (or LLL or Level 3) here, and if they prove it's you, the lawsuit that will fall on your head will be bigger than the asteroid that wiped off dinosaurs from earth... hahahaha You weren't even laid off, dude... YOU WERE FIRED! Good luck in your "pursue of new interests"...

If it was him indeed, for sure he was fired. Stupidity at its max... It was obvious they were going to find the whistleblower.

That would actually make sense... How did you know it was him? Was he fired? The "official" version is that he resigned to "pursue another interests". Sounds to me like he was fired...
