I see a lot of other Saudi companies and companies in the middle east are making significant layoffs. Any sign of this in Saudi Aramco?

midra was hit lightly, with about 25 people let go from various functions............. rumour of a large cut but seems either a little at a time or a change of heart? This took place first week in April. With Ramadan fast approaching, I think layoffs need to be finalized in the next few weeks. Unless with the IPO Ramadan is no longer recongnized. This should get a few replies!
Yes all of a sudden many have been awarded D for performance, just expats of course
I have heard that they started again the chopping machine. Any news?
JHAH finally make the benefit changes and dozens are leaving. The medical system has below to third world quality - sick today and your next appointments maybe 6 weeks or more.
Rumors about Midra look to been correct as they have start laying off employees from tech services.
Which deparments exactly? How many?
Yes - Downstream is being hit very hard right now. Time to buckle up again.
anybody is aware of "gentle" terminations during this month?
Speaking of stupid the oil ministers warned the frackers last week that OPEC could only absorb so much of their increased production. I heard that the general opinion was who cares, raise yours again and watch your own house burn down around your ears.
I hope they're not so stupid that they think their expat employees haven't figured this whole "S stands for Saudi" rating thing out.
Or maybe they are - since most of the "S" rated saudis and middle / high level managers are as clueless as stumps.
Probably explains why they drift from position to position "being developed" and in the course of years of development never actually get anything done.
Saudis are handing "D" PMP ratings left and right, nothing stopping them, this is a major sign that massive layoff is coming at the end of March (after bonus payment)
They might be re-thinking it in light of the recent $450 bil valuation of the whole company.
I'm pretty sure that 5% of that is not going to ensure a two trillion dollar lifetime of work-free prosperity for millions of Saudis.
I wonder now how much money was spent to learn that no, a garage sale will not actually fund your retirement.
Why is the SIP factor not declared yet? Do they have some different plans
Eviscerate? That be a Texas word
No word about Corporate Planning. They don't have the issues that the other tech "services" departments do.
Any layoffs in Corporate Planning?
Is Midra the incompetence on a grand scale?
That would be tens of billions per year, per department. Any guesses how many departments there are? It is the land that logic never found. Someday, someone will write a book about it. There are many Ivy league MBA case studies to come from it. The best of all is that this story will be told in the very near future.
One way of saying "you can't make that sht up".
Never seen so much money squandered in my life. The half billion savings in salaries, EAP, and inflated pension growth of corpses in Midra pales in comparison to the reduction of tens of billions in wasted, inoperable equipment and resources that they leave as debris in the wake of their Aramco career journeys.
Whatever happens over there was fairly earned in my view. Worst tech "services" org on the planet, never read fiction that was any worse than their f-d up projects.
I think it is not only Saudis who is feel sick from smell of Midra. Best thing that happen to Aramco is flush Midra building then whole company smell much better.
@IF2wAWy-3htbm; what makes you think it was the use of the language that was being referred to ? - Its more a reference to the desire for expats to be thinned out at Al Midra - seems to be an unusually high level of glee (hence the terminology used) in that expats are going to be thinned out..
@IF2wAWy-3hzpe Has it occurred to you that many expats are not native English speakers? That is not to say the rest that are here have a much better command of the language.
See the "Trust" thread for a laughable example.
Fairly obvious most the comments here are from Saudis.. No massacre, bloodbath or evisceration (such an odd word ?) in Al Midra thus far - just a gentle reduction due to natural wastage, loss of interest or a search for something more fulfilling.
Heads roll over a leaking roof? Like that jillion dollar building in Dhahran?
Look out for expat heads rolling as a result of the leaking roof in North Admin.
Huge group of people leaving anyway at the end of the school year. Going to be hard to find a moving company before August or so.
Blood bath*
Any further updates. Heard real blood bag is planned fire March:/
So far there has not been report that E is affected but if employee has ever gotten D or M its possible they make the list.
Are people with E also affected?
unfortunantly that is the reality, if they want to take something away they can at anytime without any remorse. sad times
A Cap on severance payments is what I heard today, if you've been here long enough its worth getting out before this is imposed. Myself I am off. I joined in 1980 and had my GOSI (pension) taken off me without any compensation not risking my severance. Astalavista!
Only an idiot lives/works in the ME without a Plan B
Quiet
It's coming though. A hint to the targeted might be your PMP rating. M or D needs to work quickly on a Plan B
how is the counting this week?
It appears that Midra expats are on the chopping block for the next major wave.
Any idea of targeted groups?
Heard 24 people got canned last week. It's a weekly affair
I know of layoffs in IPD, ISD and audit.
Someday when Finance and Law can be package, sold, and export then they make income for Saudi Arabia from the high price seats they sit.
Seems at new Aramco better to pay Saudi or other nationality for "close CRM but do nothing", Plan Facility that lose money, and review work done by engineer firm.
Go work for them. Maybe they pay you so much money to review work there.
