ITT-Tech is legitimate school "in its discretion"

Fake instructors? Don't stop there. Nearly everything in the catalog and ads is fake.

Here's a fun game to play. First download an ITT-Tech catalog. Now use the FIND function to search for the phrases "in its discretion" and "in the school's discretion" -- but don't include the quotation marks.

All together, I get around 60 hits in one catalog!

On-site classes?

After every program description in its catalog, ITT-Tech says that the little asterisk next to course names means, quote: ".. this course may be taught either completely in residence at the school, completely online over the Internet as a distance education course or partially in residence and partially online, as determined by the school from time to time in its discretion."

Bachelor programs available?

Catalog says that the school only offers specific programs of study expressly discussed in the curricula section of the catalog. But don't assume that listed programs will be offered! Quote " The school does not make any representation or promise whatsoever regarding any program of study or course within any program of study that the school or any other ITT Technical Institute may offer in the future.....The school will, in its discretion, determine which courses will be determined each academic quarter and which programs of study will begin new classes each academic quarter."

Program chairs available?

After listing its faculty, the ITT-Tech catalog says, quote: "any faculty assigned to a student's class may be changed from time to time in the school's discretion."

Getting the program you signed up for?

Quote: "The school may, at any time in its discretion, (a) vary the offering and/or sequence of courses in any program of study, (b) revise the curriculum content of any program of study or any course in any program of study.."

College degree?

I read a document that ITT-Tech provides to its recruiters, about what they cannot say to students. They are not permitted to refer to ITT-Tech as a college in 6 states (TN, PA, MT, NV, MA, MD).

Sounds like Norwwod, OH. That web site says six full time. The reality is that nursing have a few full time but other departments are all stripped bare. No dean or asst. dean and if you want a chair you had better like the four-legged variety.

Every scam does this kind of stuff... You can tell the worth of a company by the quality of their product and the typical outcome of the people who use it. In ITT's case they have the highest default numbers and biggest debt loads out there, with most employers considering it about as prestigious and sought after as if the person walked in with dirty toilet paper on their shoe.

Columbus Ohio has 2 full time, 34 part time in Navigator. No nursing at this school!

First hand info for my school is 0 full time, 20 part time!

I saw an ITT-Tech document, on faculty portal, that says full time academic people are:

chairs, deans, associate deans, and instructors teaching 5 to 6 classes

I read that deans and chairs are considered faculty on the Navigator data base.

At least one chair in the present Youngstown catalog, looks like he may have left in June 2013 3 YEARS AGO

Does anyone know the current overall full-time to part-time ratio for instructors?

...chairs (if there are any) are now counted as FT instructors, maybe they count deans too. Chairs used to teach none, 1 or maybe 2 classes. Now chairs might teach 4 or more classes. Nursing is all full time instructors, due to regulations

Does anyone know the current overall full-time to part-time ratio for instructors? According to the College Navigator, ITT Tech (Akron) has 4 FT and 31 PT and ITT Tech (Youngstown) has 11 FT and 41PT.

"ITT Tech students know the value of our scholarships and they experience first-hand our pledge to increase access to our educational programs," said Kevin Modany, chief executive officer of ITT Educational Services, Inc. "As part of this pledge, we made a commitment not to increase tuition starting in 2010."

PROBABLY MEANT TO SAY:

As part of this pledge, we made a commitment not to increase tuition starting in 2010, by getting rid of the full-time faculty & often eliminating chairs & others
