Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Why h1bs feel so entitled

I meen this people didn't need to work until they got a master's degree with their father's money. Five years after graduation, they are just maintaining software code poorly. I couldn't finish my undergraduate because I started working in my teens. I worked on a lot more creative projects in my early twenties. These h1bs never really had to solve any big problem or deliver high quality solutions. But my manager loves them and I am made to feel like I am out of place. I have to deal with snide remarks all the time.

I don't like being stereotyped as an "American". I'm sure Indians don't like being stereotyped as "Indians" either. "Don't judge a man until you've walked a mile in his moccasins."

@uak,

In India, people have several children and only one son stays with parents usually. Most of these h1bs don't bring their parents here and they come too far away to even be able to care for them. They don't need to worry about taking care of parents because they just send 5-10% of one years salary from here when needed and feel they are taking care of their parents. Americans have a difficult life, unlike you entitled h1bs who mostly come from middle or upper class from India and never had to do real work in life

Because you kick you dad n mom out of your family and don't support or live with them when they retired . Thats why you guys are suffering . Indians are smart father support their kids and kids support their parents .

You guys having a sucking culture . You ask money from bank's bank account for final rituals ....

This is not you mistakes crying looser. You don't have 5000 years of evaluation od culture .

Now TRUTH is during 70-80 all big companies lobbied and get this culture pushed to americans .

  1. Bank /Govt thought lets make the taking credit as principle and all people should take and benefits the banks . Now if no body take loan for study how the hell bank will grow.

  2. For getting loan kids need to be kicked out of family . So kids depends on bank and start doing some part time jobs.... Here 2 problem start and its very critical for future of kid

A. Kids start doing some part time job and never get 100% focus on getting Degree so they are behind - you can read Microsoft founder 's blog - problem in US education system 20% higher degree.

B. Kids thinks this world and they become happy with part time job

  1. Since parents did not support their degree so they son't support their parents for old age.

Its all private companies . They put poison in culture and getting maximum out of it.

See the CAR companies .. They bought all public transport and rails in 80 and killed it. Now car companies , construction benefited . What people got low wages jobs of constructions

Don't have bigger picture

Best thing make BS , MS Must for all kids and GOVT should gove incentative for education. Just do this and secure your next generation .

Then NoONE has issue of H1B ... You will have talent at your home.

Do you guys understand . Just wanted to help you to get thee H1B out from your system . This is natural way

I am on H1b and I have been designing high performance circuits for our intel microprocessors. I have 11 patents obtained at Intel. My father had to give up all his savings and also took loan for my education in U.S. Though I earn 160K per year, I live modestly and save 75% of my earning. I hope I tried to answer your question.

you can work here even without an undergraduate degree. But, in the home countries of the 'H-1B's; getting a reasonable job with even a Master's degree is difficult. It's a fact. we can go into reasoning the cause and effect and blame the people, government, economic policies, educational system etc. But that is the current reality. There may be exceptions. But in general terms, you are not comparing 'apples' to 'apples'.
