@mof: This is not the site to discuss salary stuff. There are other sites you should check for salary related info. Plus, by this time, you should have understood, salary depends on number of factor, company, Org within company, what your manager/director thinks your worth and how much you proves your worth.

Plus salary doesn't depend much on position. You might be rocket scientist ckt designer or verification engineer for that matter, you still might end up getting peanuts. Its just matter whether company need you or you need company.

@ Oji- Well you got it correct. I am here on a business to earn and go back to my country. Not on missionary work but to make money when my visa shines and go back :). I am working within the legal bounds and you should focus your frustration on finding better life or the powers be that are twisting the rules for their benefit. Not on a fellow being like me who is really being overworked by Intel, for we don't have the freedom to switch jobs on our whim. Hope you find peace with yourself.

Looking at question OP must be Indian. Texas minimum wage is 7.25$. you should get some 10% raise on this. so i would say ~7.95$ per hour.

At his point, who cares about salary? Secure the position first. If salary not cutting it, look for another position.
