Anyone know more about this? This would be really horrible decision. Is it why they stopped shuttle service to Folsom?

Bye-bye, Folsom. It was nice while it lasted.
I would not wanting to be owning a house when the cookie crumbles there ... ouch
it definitely seems to be on the road to closure give past and current activities.
@Hbb0Dr2-1fbe: Thing is, there's plenty of room in NM for all of NSG in CONUS if so desired...if NSG is so damn vital centralize them...easier to sell off that way...hey, wait a minute...
One thing, though: Does this mean the skateboard park intended for the FM8 slab is ZBB??
@Hbb0Dr2-1lou you're definitely making a lot of sense...what if the plan is to clear out as much space as possible in OR and AZ through the 16/17 actions, then more layoffs (via project cuts) and then relo everyone in CA from FM and SC (sans RNB) to either OR or AZ....I can see this scenario happening for sure.
SC-FM shuttle service was woefully underutilized for the cost. SC employees get a geo pay bump, FM people don't. Relo to SC is pretty rare; F68 rampup people were offered reverse relo back to CONUS after their 4 years as long as they didn't return to CA even if they came from a CA campus to go to F68. If anything they would move SC people to FM and close down the MI and BW campuses except for RNB; more cost-effective. The only way closing FM first is if Intel plans on leaving CA entirely except for corporate offices; in that case order doesn't matter...Intel is on record as abhorring the CA business climate...
nah.. don't think so.
More than 700 h1b at SC this year.
shuttle service doesn't mean anything...
it does seem to follow logic...cancelled shuttle service, site closures aren't offering relo to FM, but they are to AZ, SC and OR, myvisa website shows over 300 apps for engineering H1Bs for FM this year alone, signaling that while engineering is ramping, if FM closes, Intel can simply offer relo or layoff without the backlash of of ee's...it was confirmed years ago that there are no plans to expand campus...people should really take this into consideration. It's not a fear tactic, it's using strategic thinking to plan ahead for a possible scenario...
I heard it will be more like April 12, 2019 but could get pushed to Sept 6, 2019.
They can't ramp FM, not yet. NSG is based in FM and is growing exponentially (for the moment). If anything NSG will consolidate SC and FM in FM by EOY17 then expand Longmont to absorb the expanded FM population by 2019...but don't be surprised if they move EVERYTHING and EVERYONE to F68 by 2020...
How's THAT for a rumour?
What about 11x in NM?
Not in 2017 but I suppose in the next 5 years.
It takes quite a person who would post such things when they know full well that people are worried about their jobs. What an a--hole
Not credible in the least.
And the Earth explodes in a galactic fireball in June. Meh.....
Don't spread unnecessary rumors my friend.. Folsom is a major site for intel and will be such in the future as well.. If your intent is to be a sadist by giving tension to the folks there having high mortgages, then it is time for you to consult a Psychiatrist..
just shut up folks .. FM is not going anywhere
Add 11x
While I suspect this is some sort of troll/baits thread, this would not surprise me
