Cloud in the way Intel execs are playing it is "Smoke"
No more PC and the future is in the Cloud is exactly correct. We can see it coming. It's like a freight train headed right for us. Shouldn't we get out in front of it and start laying tracks instead of trying to catch it after it's already passed?
Already making bad strategy decisions showing his lack of understanding of Intel's market and technology, strengths and potentials. Add his track record (check Qualcomm-ers) would tell that he can not be compared to Andy by any wildest stretch. So, whoever did this comparison might be paid bot or Murthy himself, which in both cases just by sickness supports the case
Nay. Murthy is another nail in INTEL's coffin.
Good point @gvj being an old timer i remember all the hate targeted at Andy for what he did to Intel culture. He was a Jew boy, an idiot, destroyed america, destroyed Intel... at the end of the day he did none of that, he just did the job assigned to him. I am not sure if Murthy is Andy but i sure hope so.. The steps he took are correct Kirk's org was bloated and he needs to cut it and that i believe it will be good for Intel over the long run.
From what I hear he may be an a-hole but many say that is only to those full of political bs. Time will tell. Grove could be quite the a-hole with amazing cuss you put skills if your facts logic and data didn't add up. Let's give the guy his chance
Murthy is a simple a**hole nothing more. No reason to give him credit for anything. Failure at Qualcomm so picked up on waivers by another failing company. Seems to add up.
That is a bit naive, but I could think that there is something more complex behind what got you to suggest this.
It would be more logical to think of possibility that from the position of weakness in Qualcomm (read Qualcomm employee comments on his track record) he was rather opportunistic and took a chance to jump up (if you're failing at current company then try to jump up and solve your career problem while new company will realize it when it is too late). Then new strategy of "No more PC and the future is in Cloud" is Smoke on multiple levels like not playing Intel strengths and Intel is already staffed and doing well in servers/Cloud (read Seeking Alpha analysis).
This strategy is more revealing of potential danger of a bad future bet than the current layoffs (as there is a lot of fat in Intel and bad performers with low ROI projects clean up is logical, although site closure might not be as smart or good depending on case by case).
So, is Qualcom happily observing Murthy's virus effect knowing him much better than Intel. I do not know?
