I was offered VSP both last year and again now...did the calcs both times. For 21 years at Intel I get $66k this year and the offer was $90k (for 20 yrs, mind you) last year, so yes it's getting worse...

Last year 20yrs service got >1yr pay.....this year it is ~30wks.
So....yes, 2015 package is better than 2016 package....at least for long service folks.
@H8VGDIZ-vot, thats BS. I got the same pkg last year. It will not change.
My neighbor said that the 2015 exit packages were double of this year.
He joked about this.....he called it "moore's law"....packages get cut in half every year.
What the heck is this moore's law?
I took the VSP last year because I felt like Intel was wasting my time and I was not interested in seeing how long I could milk them. Life's too short. Time to move on.
Sorry, I guess the rationale to take VSP because otherwise if you wait for an ISP that you will not be able to come back as green or blue badge escapes me ?!? Are you nuts? Why would anyone want to go back to this very ugly mutation of a once excellent company???
Your rationale reminds me of someone suffering from 'battered wife syndrome'. I mean really,... someone with this attitude needs to talk with a therapist who can probably help you. You need Intel's craziness like you need a hole in the head.
The only advantage of not taking the VSP would be to allow you time to perform outside job search while you are still employed. This will not be looked at as negative by your future employer. On the flip side, you will have to deal with an extremely hostile environment with lots of backstabbing. It will be like total anarchy as you wonder who is actually trustworthy. Then the ISP will arrive again with probably less benefits than this time. History has shown the shrinking benefits of the ISP program.
I'm not interested in working for Intel as a blue badge again so that facet of ISP does not concern me. I just don't want to miss out on getting a payout in the next round when I'll be sure to get ISP'd...I can't imagine that they won't offer another "worldclass" package as they keep culling their "undesireables". Their employees are already demoralized; that would be such a misstep that I can't imagine ANYONE would want to work for them and already new hires are taking back their acceptances and RCGs are not seeing Intel as a "great place to work". I really don't see how Intel is going to rise from the ashes. I've been here for 21 years and I'm so disappointed in our leadership and feel sad for what's become of be such a prestigious iconic company. Please be kind on these boards, pray for and love eachother, and feel God's peace as we grow through life's trials. It will be ok.
I'd you take VSP you can work as a green badge for Intel or even come back as blue badge. With ISP you cannot be hired back in Intel ever again .
They're not going to offer these packages again. Next time will not be as "generous".
This only step one. next step might include security sneaking up behind you and snapping a full nelson; and dragging you out the door and p--ping on your chest.
