Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The ISP, VSP, ERP criteria from someone in HR

ISP: On the list are people who received a IR, BE, or S SL4, S SL5 in this past 2016 focal unless received a EE or O in 2015 focal. Does not apply to new hires hired after Jan 1 2015. Applies to all of Intel all countries all groups, including site closures. Some countries in like in Europe don't all layoffs the ISP turns into a VSP but with the ISP benefits. The benefits are 8 weeks pay plus 6mo medical. Employee walked out after 1-1 with manager and HR any day between 25th-29th depending on schedule. Exit is immediate though last day at Intel as far as pay is May 30 then benefits kick in. Person is considered as non-rehire

VSP: On the list are people who from 2013-2016 (4 focals) received no better than a S SL3 in the past 4 focals, and have been a in there GR level 2X the median time. Managers are asked to tell employees that this a very attractive package and considering there marginal performance and the coming cuts to seriously consider taking it. The benefits are 8 weeks pay + APB x1 + from 4 to 48 weeks depending on LOS in two year increments + 1 day of QPB + 1 year of medical. For +20yr employees this amounts to nearly a year of pay and medical to leave Intel. Need to choose by Jun2 last day is Jun 24. If rehired within 12mo of last day person must pay back the prorated portion of benefit.

ERP: Anyone who is over 60, Rule of 75, or new Rule of 70 55 and at least 15 years of service. Many of the standard Intel retirement + 12-18mo of medical + 1 year of pay + APDx. Need to choose by Jun2 last day is Jun 24

Project Cut Effected: To be announced at end of June, so after dates for the above so as to take into affect the early program acceptances. Employees will be informed of redeployment or a mandatory VSP with equal benefits of the earlier VSP.

Depending on net from ISP/VSP/ERP from this round (let's call it X) we will know how many are targeted in canceled projects and site closings (12000 - X)

The co-location of projects is really hard to guess at in all of this. And all the combinations of that with VSP, ISP & project cancellation.

The logistics here are staggering. I hope our HR is up to the task. What a mess, even for those that survive.

@H4yq2KR-tfo you're spot on, if past VSP indicators are measurement, people don't take it (sadly) they are too scared to leave so they opt out which is why they are offering it to so many, they finally figured out after years of VSP, people meeting this criteria won't leave unless they are forced to. They're wanting managers to "encourage" these ppl to leave because if you're performance is stagnant for 4 years at Intel, its not probable that you'll improve therefore, leave now or risk being impacted by ISP at a later date. To the poster who says they don't think they'll do another round of ISP having done it this year...I'm sure that's what ppl were thinking after they did ISP last year. Intel has been laying people off regularly for over a decade in various business groups but they are very skilled at keeping it hush hush. Leave now if you have the oppty, writing is on the wall, they are no longer interested in fostering an environment for dedicated ees (lifers) :(

You missed off LOS for the ISP - that was on the leaked foil, they are offering a LOS as well as the 8 weeks pay for ISP.

How will they reach the target 12K if half or more are VSP and those VSP decide not to take it? Therefore my conclusion is that they will have to do another round of ISP in 2016.

ISP later would mean in 2017. I don't see them doing another round of ISP's in 2016 after all this.

4 SS3 is what all in grade -5/6 would have. And they average promotion time is about 3-4 years. You can't VSP all of them.

VSP now or ISP later. What will they start to take away for those still employed? There is no protection for any of the benefits. The company is still very profitable yet want to take so much away. Makes no sense.

I am thinking the risk of relocation is that not taking VSP might result in later getting ISP at new site and being on the do not rehire list. How hard is it to find a new job is the other question people have to ask. Sorry to those getting ISP soon.

On average it takes 4+ year to move from 1 grad to another. Especially 6 to 7 and so on and they can't even get anything better than ss3 upto grade 6. This will cast a net for half of Intel.

I don't understand this...what is 4 to 48 weeks; how is it determined. For example, what would a 10 year employee be looking at?

exactly, and if you've been in the same grade without an O in the past 4 years you are "kindly" being encouraged to leave because its not going to get any better for you.

I am jealous... 16 years at Intel first job out of college.. I wish I qualified for the VSP. I would taking, take the summer of and get a better job in the Fall all while being paid by Intel.

Makes perfect sense to me if you read it (and no, I'm not HR. lol). Break it down if you can't make sense of it.

1) Did you..... receive a IR, BE, or S SL4, S SL5 in this past 2016 focal?

2) If yes, Did you receive a EE or O in 2015 focal? If yes to that too, then you are NOT targeted (hence the word "UNLESS"). If your answer to this question is no, then you are targeted.

@H4yq2KR-ohf every Intel ee knows what this means, if they don't they should not be working here. "You own your own employability".

Will they announce canceled projects at closure sites as well? Example they said Dupont was given 100% relocation offers. Does that mean 100% relocation only to those who qualify i.e. not given ISP or project cancelation.

This is an evil company to say the least. Imagine once they get everyone to one location they can easily exterminate.

"ISP: On the list are people who received a IR, BE, or S SL4, S SL5 in this past 2016 focal unless received a EE or O in 2015 focal"

is this in English? This is what it wrong with Intel. Im pretty sure there are some Intel employees who dont even know what this means!
