Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Don't cancel your Chevron Life Insurance. Sell your life insurance policy instead!

Did you know that you can sell all or part of a life insurance policy you no longer need or no longer can afford? It is called a life settlement. And it provides you with the opportunity to sell all or part of an unneeded life insurance policy for cash you can use any way you want. Contact Coventry Direct at www.CoventryDirect.com and get more information.

If you were recently laid off at Chevron, look into getting some money for your life insurance policy if you plan to cancel it. Remember that Chevron provides you for free, a basic life insurance policy worth 2-years of annualized pay. This policy is through MetLife. After leaving the company, MetLife gives you the opportunity to continue coverage at your expense or to cancel it. However, this is a reminder that you may be able to get cash for it by selling it to Coventry Direct. Please look into it.

And I'd like to add, please don't fall victim to predatory SPAM, such as that in the original post ABOVE. You can think for yourselves and make your own decisions. You don't need to be bullied and harassed by people on the layoffs forum who are looking to make a quick buck.

Those who may have an interest in the Topic of this thread, do your homework. This (singular) naysayer is not a Chevron employee or ever was. Blatant and consistent denial are only made by ignorant fools.

No, @-2kbz, I believe it is much deeper than that. It is obvious that this troll person has enlisted the shady services of the subject spam vendor peddling his wares on this site and needs to validate his poor decision-making. It is very common. They will argue at length to get approval from anonymous posters under the delusion that will make their decision correct. It's hard to admit that you have been raped financially and it was your own fault for responding to spam like this.

And the SPAMMING continues from this loser. Do they have no shame? People should be left alone to make their own decisions. Everyone want's your business. There is no reason that this unscrupulous loser deserves yours. In fact, he deserves it even less because of his unscrupulous predatory spamming tactics.

Hey dick, yeah you @1zje. I agree no one likes spammers, but enough already about it. I recall a poster commenting about www.LISA.org for anyone to do their research among 90 possible Life Settlement companies. So, if you think the OP is an advertiser peddling spam about his company, a smart Chevron employee could actually shop around for the best deal instead.

But, it's not much about that with you, is it? No, you are just a pain in the asstroll looking to have the last word. Why don't you leave it alone already. The main message hear is THERE'S SOMETHING HERE THAT SHOULD INTEREST EVERYONE AT CHEVRON WHO IS LOOKING TO CANCEL THEIR LIFE INSURANCE.

I agree that this is spam @H1H1pQ0-1ptg. And it's common for spammers to troll their comment sections. It's really not fair for people to be using this site as a free advertising for their crap.

This is SPAM and there is one spammer continuing to comment on this thread as free advertisement to generate business for you know who, mentioned above. Ignore this thread and all the so-called anonymous posters who are all the same spammer.

I agree, 1brw. I was left standing in the April ESP and will look into selling my life insurance policy. Thanks also to the OP for bringing up this topic.

Great logic, @H1H1pQ0. Follow the money. It probably is an HR or Metlife scumbag trying to block the information. Cash in your Chevron term life rather than get nothing. Or keep it going if you feel a need. But don't stop paying the term premium until you get money out of it.

I think you are correct, @1mxy. The OP is providing useful information that some Chevron folks might find helpful. It's possible that MetLife would rather see an ex-employee drop their coverage before selling it to a third party company. MetLife knows that a Life Settlement will eventually be paid out when the ex-employee dies. But, what would you, as an ex-employee do? Stop your policy and walk any or sell it to a third party for some useful cash? If I had a choice, I'd take the few bucks rather than nothing. The troll yelling Spam is a troll or advocate for MetLife or the HR department. The decision is yours to make. Do what's in your best interest.

What is with the fat assChevron lifers complaining about cashing in your life insurance rather than letting it lapse and get nothing? They are trying to stop the flow of helpful information by calling this SPAM.

Obviously, there are lots of trolls on this thread. Most likely never were former employees or current ones. If you were laid off and haven't cancelled your life insurance yet, look into a Life Settlement. You have everything to gain.

People who get laid off and go to work elsewhere can advertise their business on this site and try to get customers? Don't they have laws against that? If nothing else it's being a worthless parasite and preying on people when they are suffering.

A life settlement is the sale of an existing life insurance policy to a third party for more than its cash surrender value, but less than its net death benefit. There are a number of reasons that a policy owner may choose to sell his or her life insurance policy. I for one was laid off from Chevron in mid 2015. I no longer wanted it or could afford to pay to maintain my life insurance, even after dropping the supplemental portion. I received a $2,780 check from Coventry Direct for my Chevron-paid "two year annual salary" MetLife policy. If you are interested in shopping other companies, visit www.Lisa.org (Life Insurance Settlement Association) for a list of 90 firms involved in the industry. Coventry Direct, however, is one of the biggest competitors.

I checked it out. They are legit. There are some limitations to who they will accept, mainly the higher your life insurance amount and how old you are, the better and higher the payout. Thanks.

Not spam. Checking out a life settlement is something everyone deciding to cancel their life insurance should consider. Why leave money on the table? In most cases, you can earn around 10% of your life insurance coverage amount. Just Google "Life Settlement" to find other companies that compete with Coventry Direct for your business. Coventry Direct is only one company currently advertising on TV in the Houston area because of the layoffs in the energy industry.

For those employees who want to get something back for the value of their life insurance policy (basic two year or supplemental), you deserve it to check them out. What is a 5 minute phone worth to you? It's easy to cancel and get nothing, but get a life settlement and earn some cash. And to @jui - yes, it's something like a reverse mortgage. Coventry Direct collects your death benefit when you die. That's why they pay you for your policy. It's an investment for them.
