Thread regarding ITT Educational Services Inc. layoffs

Another nail in the coffin

More light shining on what a crooked and doomed to fail operation ITT Tech runs. I can't wait to see this place crash and burn. http://theadvocate.com/news/14442763-123/special-report-for-profit-schools-coming-under-higher-scrutiny

@tkq Ditto! I think that's the problem with recent grads and current students who continued to enroll to school like this. They have failed to do their research when infos are available out there. The writing is on wall.

You forgot to mention that $1000 (mine was actually $1400) is not just one bill but a dozen, all of them calling nonstop and all of them whining and demanding payment they all know you will never have, just so the crooks running this place can keep on getting away with stealing from the taxpayers.

Itt-Tech is NOT a good school for getting a bachelor degree. The sales reps say you get a real associate degree when you graduate, that you can use your associate degree to apply for a bachelor degree. But the ONLY college that will admit you with an associate's from ITT-Tech is ...... yes, ITT-Tech. THINK this through. You get an associates degree from a community college for LESS tuition that will transfer to MANY other colleges, including ITT-Tech. You can talk to real advisors at community colleges who can help guide you to the right associates degree for your career goals. There are no advisors at ITT-Tech --- they only have sales reps who are pressured by their supervisors to sign you up regardless of your career goals. The sales reps make it easy for you to sign up for huge loans so that you don't need to pay fees up front to begin your education. They are playing you for a sucker. Maybe you don't like math, or have weak math skills, and the sales rep promises you that you will fit right in at ITT-Tech. Yes, it is true you can get an associates degree from ITT-Tech knowing less math than required at community colleges. And yes, you will be accepted in the bachelor degree in electronics program at ITT-Tech even though you didn't take much math or physics for your ITT-Tech associate degree in electronics. Does this sound TOO GOOD TO be TRUE? Good, because ITT-Tech bachelor degrees are a sham. Please look at other degree programs before signing up at ITT-Tech. You can't land a great paying job after graduation just because an ITT-Tech sales rep says so. A diploma is a only piece of paper -- an employer is looking for someone with tech skills, not someone who paid a huge tuition for the piece of paper. A diploma from ITT-Tech is a red flag to employers, because they know the skill level required to get a bachelor degree from ITT-Tech is lower than other colleges. Why would you pay $80,000 dollars and 4 years of your life for a product that is worth much less than that? Why not put in some time researching other schools, and brushing up on your math skills, and go to a community college? You will get better instruction for less money, and higher self esteem, if you go to a better school than ITT-Tech. And keep in mind ITT-Tech treats its faculty like dirt -- low pay and no benefits. ITT-Tech is profit motivated. They are trying to sucker students and faculty alike, without spending much money on them. They pay their faculty much less than other colleges, and expect them to do a lot of stuff for free by giving them important sounding titles like "Subject Matter Expert." There are absolutely zero qualifications at ITT-Tech for faculty to be called "Subject Matter Expert," and there is no additional pay for faculty with this title. ITT-Tech is a sham school, and employers know it. If you have prior experience in your field, and are an excellent self learner, and are good with math before you ever start at the school, and interview well, then maybe you can get a great job even with an ITT-Tech bachelor degree. But if this is not you, BEWARE of facing huge loan bills, $1000 a month, after graduation, which you will not be able to pay off with the entry level job you end up with.
