Thread regarding SAS Institute layoffs

SAS is doing much better than some similar companies

Teradata is laying off a lot of people, Oracle has constant layoffs, SAP has them all the time - I think we are doing fairly well compared to most other companies - I am not sure what is behind it completely, maybe our company structure, maybe leadership but overall I think we are luck here at SAS - #GOSAS

IF it's hurting the major DWH vendors, and the major BI vendors, expect it to affect you too.

Industry disruption will affect you too, it may just be that the ripples haven't reached you yet. Expect to see an increasing difficulty in securing new business. Does SAS work on top of big data sets? Doubt it. Does anyone excited about Big Data want to use SAS? Unfortunately, probably not.
