The new Great Depression is here. There are no energy jobs left in Oklahoma, unemployment is rampant, and both of the top Oklahoma football teams played like panty-waist pussies in their bowl games. Throw in Tulsa's pathetic bowl game and you have a 3-pronged pile of shit thrown in your face that you'll be smelling until next September. Hold your heads low people because Oklahoma is plumbing the depths of a new great depression in more ways than one. It is deja vu, grapes of wrath, all over again. The only thing missing is a strong wind blowing dust onto the caked-on shit on your face.

We should have had bigger layoffs last year. Now we are caught with our pants down.
New hires of past couple of years should go asap.
More than 50% of the country is doing fine. lol
I love how when someone like you post about Oil companies you have no idea what you are talking about. I myself do work for Devon Energy and most likely to your dismay am a registered Democrat. I worked for the government for several years and had many of the preconceived notions about the Oil industry that you are trying to express here. Once I decided to take Devon's job offer I spent some time learning more about the industry I was working in and found many of the things I thought were true were basically lies. I find it funny how people that are ultra green like to push the agenda by telling half truths. Not all oil companies are built the same and I am sure you have almost no real knowledge about Devon Energy. I also find it funny that you are posting on this site using products and energy supplied by the very people you claim are the face of evil in places like OK and Texas. I would be more inclined to take your criticism if you were as green as you think you are. I doubt you are going to be willing to give up your laptop, tablet, IPhone and Television. Not to mention your car your heating and cooling and refrigerator. Shoe, cloths, even food at the local store all depend on this industry. So once you go off grid, hunt and grow all your own food. I may be willing to listen to you whine about all the horrible things this industry has done to you. Till then you should be kissing this industries ass at how well they have provided energy and the things you enjoy in life.
OKC is not a state.
Actually it's the Middle East and the US E&P drilling innovation in the shale plays in the US that is to blame for the worst economic drought to hit North America in a very long time.
Talk about stabbing yourself in the back and then having OPEC barrier the knife deeper. Fossil based energy is dirty and destroying our environment so maybe it's a good thing it's killing the industry. There will be more tornados and earthquakes thanks to big oil polluting the planet.
How many barrels of water does it take to produce a barrel of oil?
How much waste water gets dumped down a disposal well daily?
It's amazing to see states like OkC and Texas allow this kind of destruction of our planet.
How is Devon going to pay for the now new ivory towers with oil sitting at 20 bucks for 2 more years??
I hate oil companies. They lie and cheat and are ruining Oklahoma. We now have more earth quakes than California.
The same post is on Chesapeake's site because the top poster has never worked for either company I reckon.
UCO was victorious in their bowl game! Gotta find the good.....
This same post (almost word for word) was posted on the Chesapeake Energy Layoffs site. This post is spot on though.
Born and raised in Oklahoma - I hate this place right now, it's really depressing. BTW, 50% of the country is doing just fine.
