Please be aware of the recruitment agencies, media and financial agencies that want to try and gain new business from the recent layoffs around OKC. I was with a large Oklahoma City company that closed and we they heard about the closure they were all over the parking lots with cameras. It is bad enough to lose a job and really tough when someone is taking pictures of you walking with a box away from the building or wanting to get your opinion on "how you feel." Unfortunately in my 40+ years i have not experienced a quality or effective outplacement service that always seems to be offered during a layoff. Your best action is to file for your eligible unemployment, take some time to digest all of the information, work on your resume and start to network. I have never had a recruiter find me a quality opportunity-they always failed and I was the one to do the work and find what I was seeking.

@FZbT89F so true, be careful
Roger, Devon let me go just before Thanksgiving. I purposely took the Holidays off, because I figured no one was in a hiring mood over the end of year Holidays. January 4th, I posted my resume on a popular job website and got three interviews that week. Got TWO job offers a week after that. Recruiters were involved in the process. Recruiters can be a pain in the a$$ when you're not looking for a job, but they are helpful when you are looking for one. Best wishes to everyone.
