Everybody is somebody's fool. I am a fool for Christ, which makes some here fools for "someone" else. Those who do not have ears to hear will NEVER hear the truth. God does not want them to. God is a mighty and terrible (one to be feared) God. Ha! If you think He's pacing back and forth, wondering how He (The Almighty God of the Universe) can get Joe, Fred, Matt, and William to repent and turn their lives over to Christ, you're in for a very real and terrifying surprise when you die. No, the truth is that God has determined His family from the foundation of the world, and those who are His WILL repent of their sins in God's time. Then, they will no longer be lost sheep. To further elaborate, those who are not born as God's sheep are the goats of the world. And you can't turn a goat into a sheep. Another term for you is vessel of wrath, fitted to destruction. So mock all you want with your foolish babble. God will only continue to allow it in accordance with His will so that you reach the full measure of your sin. So, if, at some point, you feel the urge to fall on your face and repent for your wickedness, give glory to God for granting you mercy!

What a bunch of losers this city has. Goto god's ATM and ask for a weekly paycheck, I am sure Jesus the the cashier will be more then happy to help, as long as you watch the movie spotlight first.

You Devon folks still gonna help Crossings church build our Edmond campus right? Edmond needs more churches regardless of the economic nonsense behind extension campuses. At least you at Devon sell something - we sell "experiences" and that ain't easy. We need you on board.

These layoffs are probably Gods way of punishing heretic geologists at Devon who spread false slander that "oil and gas came from rocks under the earth that are millions of years old". How dare they. Everyone knows God created the earth within the last 10000 years - THE BIBLE SAYS SO

1cnx, my 2c on Science vs Theology. Science in its current state- regarding the universe is many times only theoretical and sometimes very contradictory among scientists. Basically they don't know many times what is going on the tough questions: Pre-singularity, Dark matter, dark energy, string theory, are we alone ?... BUt, everything narrows to an answer at some point. One day science will eventually merge with theology.

There is no evidence with faith. That's why its called faith!!!!!! Read the freaking bible and take a minute to sit and contemplate the tyrant you worship. A loving God that sends people to burn eternally because they were either born in the wrong part of the world or simply because they didn't have enough evidence? That's sick, and so are you for loving this imaginary coward.

The evidence you are looking for comes in the form of your faith and your relationship with God. Just like any relationship you have to believe on it to make it grow strong. At that point you will see the evidence yourself.

Oh FFS, you're really going to take the neurologist's word to heart? The dude is more than likely still an atheist and decided to take advantage of religious people's ignorance and delusions to make himself rich. Just like Craig Groeschel and Joel Osteen.

I don't have the answer to that and by the looks of it, neither do you. The neat thing about science is it doesn't claim to know all of the answers, unlike your bronze aged, prescientific book. I'll repeat, just because science doesn't have all of the answers, that doesn't mean God did it- and specifically, absolutely not one iota of proof that YOUR God did it. Let's not forgot that throughout human history, over 5,000 gods have been worshipped. Any babbling idiot wanting to make a dollar can make up any sort of rubbish to make it sound all nice and bubbly and feel-goody. You people will believe anything, won't you?

And as for the comment directly below me, why don't you provide some sort of evidence besides the bible to back up your claims. I can quote Harry potter all day long but that doesn't mean Hogwarts exists.

I've also read it - @1wrl, so where was this very skeptical MD's consciousness when his neocortex was completely offline ( confirmed by the many doctors during his care) ? how could he describe his experience with vivid details like many others do ? Because consciousness continues even when the brain is not functioning. Consciousness cannot experience death and that's what makes us immortal. Science till this day doesn't even have a clue where to start when comes to consciousness, sense of awareness or how it is formed.

Lol. I love the bible. Most violent and sadistic work of fiction ever written. Maybe in 2,000 years humans will believe the word of of Lord of the Rings to be the absolute truth. At least rape isn't in there. Neither is stoning your kids or dashing them up against rocks (all God- approved) isn't in there.

Believers- read the entire bible and then read a science book or ten. Reading the entire bible and realizing it's nothing but fantasy written by the most illiterate people on earth at the time will turn you into an atheist real fast.

No, you don't "know" where you're going- you believe you're going to heaving, and you believe it so much that you want it to be true. There's a huge difference between belief and knowledge. You have seemed to confuse the two. Hell isn't mentioned once in the old testament, and I'd highly advise you to use this thing called Google, or another thing called the library, to see how the Christian idea of an afterlife turned into hell. Threatening an atheist will hell is hilarious. I'm quite amused but not surprised. It's like telling you to put garlic on your door in case vampires exist.

@1cqd- I can't think of anything more ironic than a religious nut calling someone else ignorant, and then in the same breath tell them to turn to a mythological figure for their issues, instead of handling it like a mature, thinking adult should.

@1wtd- it's bold to "guarantee" she cried out to God when all of the evidence points to that she would have not, in fact, cried out to something she lived her life believing was a folly. Do you cry out to Zeus, just incase? What about Odin or Apollo? You know, just a few of the mythologies that Christianity was plagiarized from? Where do I think we to when we die? Well good sir/madam, I'm not arrogant or narcisstic enough to believe that we do nothing more than die. We'll be DEAD and that's it. Trust me, atheists DO have meaning in life. In fact, I'd wager that we have found life more meaningful than most religious people. We live for the here and now, for earths beauty, family and friends, ourselves, etc. We know that with a pretty good certainty that this is the only life we have, and don't take it for granted by believing we will be eternally rewarded in a make believe place called heaven.

I find nothing more disturbing than a grown adult with imaginary friends.

If you knew anything about science you would know energy doesn't dissipate it changes form. So where do you think we go when we die? Do you remember Madaly Murray, the founder of Amercian Atheists? She fought her whole life to end bible reading in schools. Do you know what happened to her?? Her employee of her Atheist organization stole money and kidnapped her, her son and her granddaughter. They were found murdered in the desert. I ask you, who do you think she was praying to before she was murdered?? I guarantee the God she spent her whole life fighting against. Pretty sad. I pray for you that you find a meaning to life. The worst funeral you can go to is an Athiests. The screaming you can not even imagine because these people think they will never see their loved ones again. That's a sad existence!

Absolutely right! Finally, some rational intelligence in this forum. If there is a god, he wouldn't care about human affairs - that's obvious because why would he allow someone as educated as myself to be in danger of being laid off? I agree with you totally - if he existed, he surely wouldn't be the god from the bible , he would be evil, like, say, the god from the bible.

1cnx: This it due to ignorance or you're just very upset given the circumstances and this is completely understandable. Look for HIM and you will find the truth. Trust me.

Just because you don't understand science, or because science hasn't found all of the answers yet, doesn't mean "God did it". If there is a god, he/she/it doesn't include itself in human affairs- either it can't or it doesn't care to. Meaning, it would not be the Christian God as described in the bible. If it CAN include itself in human affairs, it has chosen not to, meaning it's an asshole. But the fact that it's a an Evil tyrant dictator coward is also pretty evident in the bible.

It is inconceivable to imagine the universe without a creator. The vast universe with its laws had a beginning, look at the complexity and laws that govern it.. The complexity of our body and celular system, how our brain works, etc. Nothing is created from nothing. Even the singularity before the big bang can't be fully understood and that's where science is blind.

@evc- don't feel bad for us. We have something called knowledge. When you have knowledge, no faith is required. Religion is for the weak minded. A full grown adult with a functioning brain shouldn't need guidance from their imaginary friends. Grow up.
