Nobody is forcing anyone to stay employed there. The state of layoffs isn’t new, it might be hitting departments or geographies that it didn’t before - but nobody that has worked there more than a year or two should be shocked that it happens. If you are uncomfortable working in a company like that then leave on your own terms and find a job somewhere else. It’s not any more complicated than that.

ditto on toughing it out. just got laid off and being 10+ years as an employee i definitely would wait for a package to tide me over. agree about management.

People will tough it out when they have years invested to get the severance if they know layoff's are coming. When I felt my layoff was coming I was actively interviewing and was fortunate to lay the ground work that had me employed shortly after being laid off. I don't know how this round will go with SG but I was treated fairly. Other places not so much. Layoffs s— and watching the demise of a company you invested yourself into s—s too. No good solutions, just the best bad decision :(
