Thread regarding Sears layoffs

NC Kmarts

So we now are aware that Raleigh NC Kmart is closing. But oddly, the only other NC store in K–l Devil Hills (sorry this site censors the name for some strange reason), has a newly listed store manager position open LOL! Wouldn't it just make sense to shove the store manager from Raleigh into that store instead of hiring another one for a company that would be gone soon anyway? Granted the 2 stores aren't very close together, and it's possible whoever it is in Raleigh just didn't want to relocate there, but I was just wondering. Here is that listing. You can see they also have other management and HR positions available. It just seems odd, when there is a store closing in the same state:

@2tnm They do? Then Kmart is gonzo. KDH, NC has about 5800 people LOL. It can't support having both those stores. Usually if there's a Wally/Targy in the same town, then the Kmart eventually closes, I have found. Kiss this one goodbye.

@Edu That's what I was wondering. That town has under 6000 population And it's really basically a Summer town. Raleigh has almost half a million people. Yet they close the latter. Darts, guys, darts. They just throw darts at a map and randomly choose store locations (as someone stated earlier).

Eddie is hoping a hurricane will demolish and he'll collect the insurance money. It's a plan that's worked in the past!

I live in NC and K–l Devils Hill is a horrible location. It’s basically on an island so there’s only one way in and it’s a high risk for hurricane area in the Outer Banks. How has this location managed to stay open and be the sole survivor for NC?

Good points. I'm surprised they didn't keep Raleigh and close KDH though, instead. The latter is a Summer Beach resort type town, with a population just above 5000, while Raleigh is a major city in NC. Who Knows?

I see where you're coming from, buddy, but Raleigh is 200 miles from that other town. It's quite possible the Raleigh workers don't want to relocate that far away, and instead just want to seek other work locally when their store closes. It does seem odd that they are hiring managers and such, though, when the store likely doesn't make it out of Spring 2020.
