Kmart in Temple City is listed as closing. OK, list man, make your new list of Kmarts LOL. This should get you aroused. Just kidding, man. I found it listed as closing on the jobs website:

Can confirm that Temple City has a closing sale. Not sure if anyone had officially confirmed yet.

Yep they are definitely closing. I think this leaves Long beach as the only Kmart in L.A. County. Costa Mesa is close by, but in Orange County.

This is the list of Kmart jobs available in California, the biggest state. And most of these jobs you see, are in closing stores. The (for now) non-closing stores, Big Bear Lake, & Costa Mesa, each have 1 Seasonal job available. That's right. 1 job listed each, in DECEMBER. The writing is on the wall, it's over:

Cali got hit hard this round because it’s the only state with so many stores still working. They’ve already closed most of the stores in other states months ago, left one ore two per state if any.

My theory on why California got hit hard recently with closures would have to be the $15 per hour minimum wage bill that Governor Jerry Brown signed two years ago. The bill that was passed mandated a $1 per hour wage increase every year until 2023, when it reaches $15 dollars an hour. In comparison with other states, California will have the highest minimum wage rate in the nation. I don't believe Sears in it's bankrupt state could afford to pay out these $1 per hour increases for the next 3 years. It makes perfect sense to close all the California stores sooner than later, if Eddie wants to save money and keep the slow closing process going as long as he can.

The politics of CA make it extremely difficult to do business there, so to be expected.

Man, oh man. That was a very busy store too. Wonder why they picked that, instead of those random floaters in far flung places like Montana, New Mexico, NH, etc.?

Wow, CA just got decimated, didn't they? They lost a c-ap ton of Sears/Kmarts in the last round and they just continue. End is nigh.

There is rhyme and reason. The store will close when, if the price is right. Let's hear your bid on the first showcase showdown.

As I posted on the other thread, I'm surprised with all those odd, straggling stores, in far flung places around the country, that they decided to close Temple City, which is in LA County, the largest single county in the country! There appears no rhyme or reason to where they close stores. North Dakota has 700,000 people and their store remains, yet LA County, which has over 10 million people, loses their store. Go figure LOL!

Sorry, couldn't resist:

60 Kmarts left in the mall
60 Kmarts left!
If Temple City,
Should happen to fall
59 Kmarts left in the mall.

Link seems legit, as it is from Sears' own job website. So they are down to 9 Kmarts remaining in the largest state in the country. Surely many more closings will follow this. I appreciate you including links instead of just posting unverifiable stuff. Cheers! :)
