Thread regarding Sears layoffs

A total shame

The beauty of a new store. The shiny new everything built from inside out. How does it look now. Walls cracking, floors dull showing wear. Ceiling tiles stained from water leaks, missing tiles. Shelves filthy and dust covering every corner. The care of a store looking grand is gone.

@1swq Exactly. It's called a free market. Nobody is forcing anyone to stay there.

So the store should be a charity? If you don’t like the conditions work elsewhere.

For sure! The whole company is nothing but nonsense.

Pretty sure the point of this post is to bury revelatory comments about Eddie's shenanigans. Everytime something genuinely juicy comes up a bunch of this nonsense floods in.

The K-Mart where I used to work look all shiny and new too. The povery-stricken employees more likely lived in abodes in states of disrepair as you describe. I know my broken down car at the time was like something out of Grapes of Wrath. I was surrounded by new at the store but everything I had was used and used-up. We were treated like migrant workers too, not picking crops, but picking stock and at a pathetic poverty level wage....with the same level of regard and respect from management as migrant pickers. There was some level of satisfaction seeing these stores fold one by one....some turning into holes in the ground, others left to looking like some overgrown hayseed.

Even Goodwill stores look better than Sears nowadays.
