Halliburton To Shut Down Its El Reno Location
Monday, December 2nd 2019, 3:18 PM CST
Updated: Monday, December 2nd 2019, 3:25 PM CST
Halliburton has announced its intention to shut down its El Reno location.

This closure will leave about 800 employees without jobs, according to El Reno Mayor Matt White.

"We all have been around long enough. We all understand that in the oil field, there are ups and there are downs," White said. "We've been seeing a downturn in oil and gas production for some time. We are aware of that, and during the last budget, we backed off the budget this year based on the slowdown of the oil field."

El Reno police were at the offices while Halliburton officials made the announcement on Monday.

Those 'careers' they promised everyone were lies and they knew it. When you do not own or control the very things Halliburton or any other service company goes out to make their money it is a sham to tell people there is a career at your service company. It ends this fast, actually faster these days when those at the top are going to cover their behinds first and to heck with the employees. Get out of this business and go elsewhere. Start your own business and try that, anything but the oilfield! And surely you saved a lot of your overtime, didn't you ??????

@12jjxYkY-1ibm: Get over yourself. I'm sure you're a nobody, and maybe not even
a part of Halliburton.

Were down to 2 crews I thought in the last month. There is a ton of equipment parked anywhere it can be. Bulk plant across the street had trucks all lined up in a row too.
