Gut IT....yes they will. There’s plenty more IT folks, and other people, to lay-off in Boston & Quincy. They will then use a combination of A.I. and rehire for certain positions but outside the US.

How can the layoff more people from the IT dept, I mean haven't they gutted the IT dept over the
last 9 years through layoffs.
And didn't they turn a lot of their IT fuctions over to IBM
So who is left to gut in IT
Layoffs are happening the first week in January and again February. The list for January is already complete. IT/SQA will be hit hard.
now we wait....
They always do the big layoffs right near bonus time. I'm hearing by March 2020, HUGE numbers of people, especially senior execs that have been demoted or had their direct reports reorged.
Its going to be the worst layoff yet. And yeah, the stock market crash is what makes it worse than originally planned... got to keep the shareholders happy with stock price.
The signs are everywhere. The greatest economic crash is coming and job losses will be everywhere.
DONT BUY ANYTHING – pay off your debts NOW!!!
@12aN3vds-2utu I do believe that some vp's and senior vp's don't know exactly who will be laid off but have some idea of how many are being targeted. I am a former employee of State Street who has connections that were vice presidents and did know about the outsourcing long before it happened. Of course no one really knows what will happen but keeping your resume updated and your skills current is always a good idea.
Managers don’t know who is getting let go until the last minute. Happy Holidays!

Your mgr may or may not be telling you the truth.
Its possible she is just waiting to get the layoff list from her boss .
Second if a mgr told a worker or some workers that in say 6 months they were being laid off.
The workers would start looking for new jobs outside State Street.
This could cause a big problem for your department having workers leave too soon.
So the boss will say your safe or I haven't heard anything.
I was so stressed this morning...I could hardly work....I went in and asked my manager whether or not I will be laid off.
She said she couldn't say too much but that I was safe this year but she has heard that there will be many layoffs next year...especially in Jan and February.
She seemed to be telling me the truth...but who I don't know for sure.
Has anyone heard anything like this?
If you’ve been there more than 8 years....get ready to get laid off. Fact.
The reality is layoffs are inevitable based upon the company's own statements on its desired the low-cost/ high-cost ratio strategy. It is not if, it is when. Attrition alone isn't likely to achieve the ratio without layoffs. People laid off earlier likely have had a better chance at employment because of low employment rates but those laid off in 2020 may face a less rosy job market.
When you least expect it.....expect it.
Your record is worse than the NY Jets. Give it up.

Oh so you personally get the reports of who is going to get laid off, wow you must be very important.
Please stop. You’ve been wrong every week. There have been little days no big days
