Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Anyone notice you can buy Lands' End at Walmart now?

It's all cheap low quality c-ap now. I guess that's why everything at the website is 60% off. Another great brand destroyed by Eddie. Well, Eddie and losing his pants in retail, name a more iconic duo.

Eddie owns Approximately 65% of Lands End.

47% is owned by Eddie independently of the hedge fund. This is likely just so the company can be publicly traded. RBS Partners is another one of his affiliated hedge funds.

Eddie Lampert discloses that he holds a 67.1% stake in Lands End' ([[LE]] -2.4%) through ESL Partners, down from a prior position of 68.5%.

Why doesn't ESL own much anymore? Because he's br o o o o k e, and has to pay the piper on Transform's sinking ship.

@12KNlv0y-ajk -you’re making up information to fit your narrative.

ESL has a 14+% ownership stake, far from a majority

The second largest shareholder/owner of LE is not a Chinese company, but Morgan Stanley

By far the largest owner of LE is ESL Investments, and it's not even close, but that might not stay the case since Eddie is selling his position to raise cash to keep the sinking Transform ship afloat. The second largest owner is a Chinese company. They had a scandal a few years back using North Korean slave labor, I kid you not. LE has been bleeding cash hand over fist because of capital spend, repaying loans, interest expense, and loss of revenue due to closing up Sears shop within a shops. It's another brand that's going to end up on the ash heap of retail.

I doubt they're even making that much money given Walmart's negotiation and business practices.

I am sure Lands End signed a contract with Walmart to sell there product in store so that people would not forget the brand

Lands End and Craftsman are actually the two pieces that Eddie didn't destroy (because he sold them). He almost destroyed Craftsman then sold it. I believe Lands End was always profitable but remember it was kind of a separate company, it was a wholly owned subsidiary with its own CEO even when it was owned by Sears.

A big part of their profit comes from uniforms, not retail.

Hey you can also buy Michael Kors on Sears.com.
So is that brand going down with Sears?
It's called 3rd party vendors, nothing to do with Sears!

Good for Lands End!!!
Sears k–led that beautiful brand :(
In 10 years everyone will forget they were part of Sears, just like the brand Structure. ( Sears F-d that up too!)

Lands' End is doing better than they have in a long time. They are actually profitable and have been opening their own stores, all while parting ways with dying Sears. Walmart.com is a marketplace with thousands of third party sellers like sears.com. And unlike all the fake sears hype posts, this is all true.
