Thread regarding Allscripts layoffs

Leadership Fail

Allscripts seems to follow up their "strong" quarterly reports with a round of RIFs. My sympathies to those let go, but the company itself has been stumbling, bumbling, and fumbling for many years. They failed to capitalize on the federal Meaningful Use program, failed to capitalize on the explosion in data & analytics, and failed to capitalize on the largest economic expansion in US history.

PRO is outdated, TW is clunky, Avenel is a dud, Paragon is a sinking ship so unless Sunrise can carry everyone on their back, the death spiral has just begun. Forget about Practice Fusion because the market sure has.

To those remaining, use this time to pad your resume, explore your opportunities, and take care of yourself first, then Allscripts second.

The leadership is primarily from mergers and acquisitions. Think about that – a company that was failing gets bought by Allscripts, then is put in leadership positions. Essentially propagating a failing leadership model.
Then, the board recognizes that the stock isn't moving in the direction it needs so they bring on a big three consulting team, several of them become the new leadership.
Now, that leadership has no idea what it takes to build and deploy software (CDO has failed miserably at deploying several high end solutions) and thinks that they know what it takes to right the ship. Unfortunately, the problem is that the current leadership is either feckless or incompetent.

There was a note here that indicated that Care In Motion is a great strategy, but it isn't. Rather, it is the solution that is needed but the teams involved do not understand what it takes to do what they are 'promising', (we have seen that movie before) and don't understand the gaps in the current solutions that would make that work. They also just let go the teams that could make it work.

I am really wondering when the board is going to grow a pair and correct the leadership at the top. Not by just firing the CEO and President but not promoting the Chief Delivery Officer to the CEO position. The board is not doing their fiduciary duty

@122mWcNz-bzxe: For grunts; One week per year served, plus four weeks. Minus PTO already taken. Minus cost of COBRA once that becomes effective. Happy holidays.

No leadership. No direction. Rudderless. Execs and remaining leadership are "C" players AT BEST. This company is headed to the trash bin but CEO and Pres will continue to rake in the bucks....even after a hilarious 'earnings' call where statements were made that were.....well....nevermind. Buh bye allscripts.....I'm sad for the good people that remain. Everyone else was RIF'd OR left, reading the handwriting on the wall......

We were told today that layoffs are just part of doing business. While the executives are pulling in 7 figure salaries, they rave about Indian adulation when they visit employees there. You shouldn't have to guess where our jobs are going.

I was let go oct of 2017 from Burlington ma best thing that could have happened. Any one else notice right after they lay off on linkedin they start posting all these great things happening at allscripts. I also notice all the happy posts on glassdoor are all from India. Burlington ma management really was poor but their just looking to survive. What a away to live wait for the ball to drop every 3 to 6 months. Good luck, and it’s better out of there.

Previous post about Allscripts not going belly up.. The odds of bankruptcy continue to rise for them with the amount and type of debt that carry. Odds are sitting close to 40% probably of it. Better than Vegas House odds. I’d love to be the bank holding the note on their building in Raleigh. I wouldn’t want to be a contractor or MSP for them. Good luck getting paid. Health bubble going the same direction as the tech and property bubbles. Allscripts just tanking slower.

I don’t see any leadership in this company. Top executives only care their own pockets.

If there was any leadership whatsoever, employees would hear about the RIFs from the VPs and above. Instead, we read about them on a website. Pretty weak.

Even Sunrise was not spared from this RIF.The company won't go belly up anytime soon, but it does make one wonder what direction they're planning, if there even is any.

I'll agree here especially since I've been here for 10 years as well (going on 11 in April if I'm lucky).

In addition to that, definitely polish your CVs. It's the end of times for the American workforce.

One other thing is that the expectation from the company is Sunrise and Care In Motion (Care Director, other bu's) will be the go forward path for UK expansion. Which in fairness is a good idea (for once not a misstep, but I expect it to be like Epic in Sweden).

Which is sad.
