Don't put it past GE to do mass layoffs while you have this pension offer in your hand. You will be desperate for money when you get laid off and have this offer in your hand. I would expected mass layoffs between now and Nov. 25th.

Small people matter.
Pension matters.
Pension buyout is for ex-employees only. Generally still working age people. I'm not sure if a retired person who didn't start taking their pension yet would still be eligible. I suppose it's possible that they sent the offer to a few people in that position. Anyone who is already drawing their pension is not affected.
Bluffing and barking.
Good morning - @1asj and 1lei and ALL the Servants__Of__ Business out there – clarification needed – is the pension payout only for ex-employees? Is it meanly for the PS ex-field engineers and managers, now skilled laborers and foreman at FC? Who could have a set of Knowledge to answer this question?
There’s no more lump sum because there’s no more money. Can’t you understand this
My bad I thought it was for both. Regardless, tis the season for layoffs. Usually early November so you can spend extended holiday with your families.
The PENSION lump sum is for RETIRED employees not yet drawing their retirement pay. Don't get to excited about a lump sum payout, it only helps the meatball.... OP has no clue what they're talking about.
If you are laid off you become an ex-employee and are eligible for a lump sum payout. Also separation pay and unemployment should get you through to next job and you won't have to take the lump sum.
The pension lump sum offer is only for ex-employees.
