Check your severance payout for accuracy, I was overpaid by a UHC payroll mistake and now I’m in collections to pay them back after being laid off. Good luck.

i received my severance pkg yesterday - 6 wks severance eff 1/2/20. i've been expecting it. the pkg comes with Agreement Not to Sue and clauses that protect the company for everything under the sun. So far the Clinical Ops/Behavioral Health has experienced about 400 (within the past wk). the 400 includes clinical practice mgrs, concurrent care managers, care advocates (daytime and after-hours), customer service, clinical audit, etc. a NYC provider told me in late spring 2019 that they received notice that ALL REVIEWS were going to be online eff july 1, 2019.

Well it was December after all. Corporate greed at its finest. Wonder what the CEOs bonus will be for this?

OptumRX laid off the entire billing department for their home infusion and specialty departments. Hundreds of jobs sent overseas. Corporate is spinning this as the US team being incorporated into Optum Global Services but they are only keeping a very small number of jobs in the US and have added multiple teams in India and the Philippines. Very frustrating that they've been able to keep it so quiet.

Can everyone contact their local media on this? I am trying in MN and getting nowhere. If a few places get the news out, it will have to catch on, even with the lying mass media. Alternative media is a great idea too! The truth must be told!

I didn't write that post, but that is definitely the message we're getting in Clinical Services.

The writing is on the wall. Meeting about “exploring Jobs at UHG”, sending out lists of open job reqs and Townhalls about “Housekeeping” and streamlining. It’s so obvious that there will be layoffs.

I’m in UHC Medicare Prior Auth- yesterday the emails went out about who was available for year end overtime and in writing they wanted specific days and hours of commitment??? Get ready folks. We were told a month ago Optum will be taking our dept over, and now they want OT commitments? Get ready. That’s means half of us will be gone soon and they need staffing commitments. Totally legal, but sooooo shady and sneaky. Worst management group on the planet.

@11q6QmAM-1apf be careful with social media. You can get fired for that, without a severance package. As for the news...I've already contacted all of the major news outlets, nothing so far. I think more of us need to do it.

I don't understand why they don't ask for volunteers - I would love a severance payout. I'm looking outside the company anyway. My optum tech team keeps getting more work, layoffs constantly over the last couple of years, reorg'd every other month to directors that know less and less about the product, and more offshore workers (the ones on my team are usually hard-working, have to work crazy hours for low pay so nothing against them). Instead of hiring for open positions, someone left on the team is assigned that role, too. I've talked to others that want out, too, so it just seems like the company should at least open it up to volunteers.

Instead, of all of us being frustrated of what has happened and what will happen to the rest of us still employed, why don’t we ALL stand together and fight this company? Use your social media accounts to out this catastrophe. I have already begun doing this. All these threads are informative but, lets ALL take it to the next step. Notify your local news stations, national news stations etc of this massive layoff due to outsourcing it’s a news worthy event! Good luck to us all..

The writing is clearly on the wall in the program I work for in Clinical Services. We're expected to lose 2/3 membership we serve on 1/1/20, and they've been "streamlining" our processes endlessly. I expect many of us will be gone before the new year.

I'm not in Optum or UHC Clinical. Rumor I've heard is the consolidation will cause the biggest impact in the next wave.

I am in Clinical Services, we are talking about it. Some folks think it'll not happen, there are some who are saying Wave 2 will be the biggest wave.

At this point, nobody knows for sure.
