SYW Max and VIP Coming to an End

These programs will be ending at the end of December. I thought they were supposed to bring the turnaround and save the company.

Supposedly the program is being replaced by another one called Sears Plus.

The VIP program was easy to get bumped up a level by redeeming points. Apparently the programmers counted redemption as spending new money.

So, if a member used a lot of points back offers, coupons or other promotions, that would give them even more offers and discounts through the VIP scheme.

WRT SYW Max, spend thresholds for years included redemptions. And the early years of SYW Max, members could get anything shipped to them free.

Imagine the costs to the company for all of this!

An email went out to members yesterday informing the about the end of the two benefits. It was vague about some new benefits and partners coming in the future. My guess is the program is ending. With the layoffs that happened to the SYW Hoffman team there isn't anyone left to manage the program.
