@11C9vfFo-bapv remember the PS shakeup about 2 years ago? The manager didn't play this game and was eventually laid off . He's in a good place now as the CTO of another company!
@11C9vfFo-6rnm I think because you didn't take the opportunity to report your VP for coercing you into hiring someone, that's why you got promoted after leaving management.
I left management and went back to being an IC. Why? I was basically coerced by my VP into hiring someone knew who was not qualified. This happened twice. I'm still at Juniper because they promoted me after I became and IC. Got lucky, so I guess I'll hang around the gravy train for a while longer.
Juniper is growing very well in fraud, friends and family promotions. It's the only company fully based on these.
Cisco has billions in the bank which they have used wisely over the years to diversify into various businesses outside of core networking. Juniper did not have to financial muscle power to do this, on top of that it made lots of bad acquisitions which has led to billions of dollars lost. These billions could have been used for fruitful R&D.
Arista correctly spotted growth in datacenter networking and had the right product at the right time. Juniper too spotted this right, came up with Data Center BU but came up with products which no one wanted.
Ciena is just a BS company, it just looks better compared to Juniper. It is ironic that Juniper is touted as worse that Ciena, I could have never imaged a time like this would come.
