We can’t seem to get any straight answers from OXY HR people about the COC. Anadarko HR people are completely worthless. OXY HR people are saying we will get the COC package if laid-off within 12 months. It was our understanding that Anadarko employees are protected for 3 years. It’s important that we know these issues when deciding on the VSP. Like I said we need straight answers.

APC HR does have control over certain areas. Contractors for one. HR still continues to retain contractors for non-critical roles when they have literally no work to do. Not a very good business decision. Oxy management... look closely at HR.
APC HR knows just as much as all of you. Oxy is not communicating with them. It’s pretty clear who got bought in this equation. We have zero control over anything.
Cope with Reality??? Oxy took out billions of loans at 8%. I could have arranged a better loan at the local Pawn Shop.
If you actually attended the integration meeting as opposed to being an outside troll on the board you are getting the information available. We are ALL closing the deal so yeah there’s money in it for everyone
Looks like it will be hard for APC employees to cope with reality, either at Oxy or elsewhere in the industry. Bunch of whiners.
Call me selfish and entitled, but I want to know if my two hour lunches are safe. Don't come on this site and tell us to get back to work. The Layoff is made for us slackers to waste time griping about things that matter most to us....like two hour lunches, gym bennies and PTO. I've worked at APC for 14 years and these are my God given rights!
The deal is 4 business days in and everyone is so upset that two multibillion dollar companies haven’t seamlessly integrated yet. Wow. How crazy.
It’s clear OXY doesn’t have a clue on how to handle all of this. They are way over their head and don’t have the expertise to professionally deal with this. The system side alone will be a sh-t show for sure.
Dang right HR is looking out for themselves...It is exhausting hearing all the entitled whining, constant questions that are the same over and over.... openly asking personal questions in a large group setting... hearing employees argue over policies that Oxy set ( 40/5 ) and all the general population BS.
APC was a great place to work, leadership let it go into the ground, but the entitled employees who get all bend up about the smallest thing are to blame as well. You can't fund things the way APC did, expect tier 1 everything and then complain when your lottery ticket comes up just short. Shut up, do your work or go find another job. You will quickly find that wherever you go you will get paid a bit less and work a bit more.
It may not be straight answers we are in need of. Perhaps geigh answers are what we truly seek.

Have you been to the HR meeting? I'm very impressed with Oxy HR, they seemed very transparent. Unfortunately APC had a very complex retirement plans because of the legacy companies and it's only been 2 days since they have had access to them.
Does COC gets triggered if Oxy sells an asset within 12 months?
Read the CoC plan, it will give you straight answers.
@10x4fyWR- ziu ... what you describe was my understanding. But it’s not what OXY HR people are saying. Anadarko HR is AWOL... not a peep from them.
Of you are not getting VSP...
You have 12 months to invoke COC for good reason. Make sure you can support it because if not then you will be resigning with nothing extra.
If Oxy gets bought or you get layed off within 3 years then you get COC.

Did you go to a benefits meeting yet? If not...GO! VSP=full COC for 40 years old and 5 years of service. I believe PTO payout is all that they need to confirm.
