VSP will be offered this week to 40 and over with 5 yrs of service and will look an awfully lot like CoC.

You agreed on a date?? For Oxy, the dates were chosen without asking the individuals or even their direct manager.
@10vk39vK-1qoe - who said you have to have more than 5 years of service to be legacy? For the purposes of this acquisition, legacy Anadarko = people employed by Anadarko prior to closing, and legacy Oxy = people employed by Oxy prior to closing, regardless of how many years of service you have at each company.
Well that doesn’t make sense. If it was only for legacy why would they open it to at least 5 yrs service when to be a legacy one had to be with the company way more than 5 yrs.
@10vk39vK-1vrs - yesterday, for legacy Anadarko employees only.
@1vrs, the Anadarko VSP was lowered to include those 40 and above.
When did the age switch from 55 to 40?
This is an EXCELLENT move for those 40 and above. You draft out your own transition plan with your manager. Agree on a date, then you go out on the open market and you already know which date you can begin your next opportunity. Win/win.
Not a good move. Let those who want it have it. Chances of getting a job for 40 and above gets harder. It's just a reality. This thing is going to drag out painfully because as usual management thinks they know better.
