X-FILES The Truth is out There.
See you on the other side when the revenue tanks, this isn’t CA bubba! “Opens popcorn”
Great culture BTW!
Broadcom will take the t–d that is Symantec Enterprise, cut about 90% of its overhead and operating costs (including the overpaid no-talent clowns still there), sunset the ridiculous product portfolio of bloatware that cant catch a cold in a paper bag (security "leader" LOL) and polish it into the shiney little nugget that it was meant to be.
Keep in mind you can see the same pattern of organizational ownership from Huawei and the US Governments position on not being in bed with any organization that could have global impact to telecommunications infrastructure. So the Fed's could attempt to still step up and asking for clarification and reassurances or not approve the deal.

“If they are willfully getting into this deal knowing they are going to get a business for which there are no specialized sales (let go), little to no dev resources left (let go or quit) and a minimal amount of PM’s left then something is up”
“If you think BC has the resources today with the right amount of knowledge to run this business then you are absolutely delirious.”
How do you know all the above, my esteemed friend. Aren’t you speculating out of paranoia?
BRCM is not an id–t, they’ll keep enough folks to do the job— look up CA and Brocade forums those guys said similar things, how come BRCM cut 1/2 the company and run it, customers will run, we are so special blah blah blah... look at the earnings results for BRCM enterprise section and get some clue. BRCM only buys companies where they believe there is fat to be cut, if you think Symantec was a lean well oiled machine, then I guess we have to agree to disagree!
Between your two post you are implying that because you smell something, out of your paranoia, BRCM must be buying this for Chinese espionage.. 110/100 marks for such a creative conclusion ;)
People on this forum are here to look up info / share info on what’s going on and hopefully make some good decisions or at least know what to expect... not to read up crazy theories.
I guess it was just a matter of time before some id–t turned this into a racial issue, buddy go back to crazy town as this is not what people are discussing here...... ugh!
This is simply a corporate “if it smells bad, looks bad and tastes bad then something is up”
If they are willfully getting into this deal knowing they are going to get a business for which there are no specialized sales (let go), little to no dev resources left (let go or quit) and a minimal amount of PM’s left then something is up, they are either in for a surprise or they certainly know what they are doing...... that’s all.
If you think BC has the resources today with the right amount of knowledge to run this business then you are absolutely delirious.
And you are right, the insane are running the asylum, horrible management for many years got Symantec where its at today.
@10vWX82R-sve Sorry we can’t change your mind, as ignorance and bigotry can’t be cured. Someone wrote sort of Hock Tans bio, in one of these forums, read it up. He has been US citizen for 4 decades, MIT /Harvard grad, he is Malaysian by birth, aside from him doing a plastic surgery to make him look like Caucasian American, what will it take for him to be accepted as American. He is no different than Jack Welch, but Jack was accepted as “great leader” since he had the right looks. Though he (Jack) was among the pioneers in outsourcing us jobs to China. People bigotry and racism makes me wanna puke.
Unfortunately Symantec employees are in this mess because of Symantec’s Mgmt poor management and not because of Chinese looking Hock... sure take out your anger on Hock and Broadcom!!!
Why would any G2000 company buy from Broadcom with that in mind? Isn’t fed gov a customer?
☝🏼 What he said.....
Since Hock Tan is a well know puppet for the Chinese government this is a grand opportunity for some corporate espionage...and worse. What a great way, with our products, to siphon off, sniff, and decode every packet from a built-in laundry list of Fortune 500 companies who are our current customers. They just bought a trade-secret and info stealing goldmine. Go ahead, change my mind.
