I have nothing but respect for all techs in all departments, but you definitely came off as an arrogant jerk. Altice wants majority of workforce to be contractors, not in house. This goes for all departments including Lightpath. I know your special, but if it saves them money they will replace you with a contractor. If you do not have a CBA it’s only a matter of time. I’m not a FS tech, but have seen their work & lightpath’s work & know that a Lightpath tech wouldn’t last a day doing the amount of work their doing every day, plus there always working alone. It’s never too late to get organized. If you want I can give you their contact info, your gonna need it.
Please mr pro Lightpath company tech please don’t be mistaken that the you are needed ask the thousands of employees that have been pushed out and felt the same way until it was too late people will come from all over the United States and take way less to do the same job protect yourself have a blessed day. Ps Quality is thrown out the window with Altice.
Ugh, don’t pay attention to the “union is the best” drone. Yes, the union can help, but relax, it’s not gonna fix every thing. We should be wishing our light path brothers the best with the new jobs. We’ve worked with them far longer than these union organizers. Don’t be so quick to give your loyalty, or forget old co workers.
No union doesn't mean anything but a smaller paycheck (union dues) and the same raise as the beater who is slacking off all day. Stonepeaks portfolio of Data Centers is at least in the scope of focus as to what Lightpath does daily. Altice admitted that Metro E was not in their future business plans so this does have the possibility to be something better than what we now have. As for contractors, good luck with finding one that can operate multiple platforms correctly. Much less the one that is used for our core transport facilities. As for the angry little writer that thinks "Lightpath tech" is better than anyone, don't be mad that your career didn't progress. What you don't know is almost all techs on the Lightpath side are former Field Service and OSP. I don't think we are better than anyone else but the training we have received puts us in a better place to be rehired and at a higher pay scale. Take everything you learn here to make yourself better and more qualified for the next job. Trust me, if you can make it in this dysfunctional workplace imagine how much better it will be when you have everything you need to succeed? Once you learn it they can't take that away
That’s great, nobody cares. No union = no job. They will find contractors to do your work & then it’s goodbye. Your no better than anyone else. Good luck Lightpath tech who thinks he’s better than the field service techs.

Maybe this company (Stonepeak) will be able to implement a real management strategy? Techs are beyond overworked and have been given the task to be their own logistics coordinators. Altice should never have included Lightpath in the original purchase of Cablevision. Even with depleted work staff, the Lightpath teams have hit record numbers and growth almost every month. They have accomplished this without a union and without crying about the amount of work they have been tasked with. Being added to Stonepeaks portfolio of established and well-run companies gives hope that we will continue to grow and establish the name Lightpath as one of the marquee companies in Metro E.....nationwide.
And this means absolutely nothing to US working folk !!!!
