I think that you should revise your 10 year plan to the next 3 years.

IMHO the OEM winners will be those who can shed the ICE the soonest. When that's done a large financial drain, emissions, will be out of the equation.
And yes, they will still have to be able to design and build the vehicle.

I just leased an edge with $8k in rebates. This is how ford has operated for 30 years. People buy ford because of price. People buy the foreign brands because that is what they want.

Ford is already offering incentives on Ranger. Why, priced too high and too large rebates are a sign of failure, and incorrect timing. It will be the same but worse for the BRONCO😘😘😘😘🤣🤣🤣🤣🤗🤗🤗😡🙏

Just an another article provided by Ford and GM public relations for publication to soften the UAW negotiations in favor of the auto companies. Many of the paragraphs are straight from Professor Moonbeam.

What will happen is Ford and GM will be perched at the end of the EV tree limb while Toyota and Honda saw off the limbs where they are perched.
The EV only works for densely populated urban areas. Even then the environmental impact of the battery production, disposal, and recharging is much worse than other alternatives. So let us get real, we are not all going to live and work in Professor Moonbeams city of the future. The truth of the matter is for densely populated urban areas, feet, bicycles, mass transit are all much better alternatives than autos. Of course the auto industry wants autos to be the only solution ,,,, look at how they purposely destroyed Detroit’s mass transit system ,,,, wonder why they did that?

The evolving story of how Toyota, Honda,,,, are systematically eliminating the big 3
Can’t make safe, quality, fuel efficient small cars? No problem, we will
Can’t make safe, quality, fuel efficient compact trucks? No problem, we will
Can’t make safe, quality, fuel efficient minivans? No problem, we will
Can’t make safe, quality, fuel efficient sedans? No problem, we will
Can’t make safe, quality, fuel efficient compact SUVs? No problem, we will
Can’t figure out how to profitably build autos in the USA? No problem, we can and do
Can’t produce batteries and other precious metal components in your country? No problem, we can and do
Can’t build an infrastructure for mass transit in your country? No problem, we have and are in our country.

The slow death of the big 3 is Uber painful to watch.

The real question for our nation is not EV vs ICE but how to effectively design the densely populated areas to encourage healthy lifestyles. Or deciding to opt for many smaller areas connected with high speed rail. Instead we are focusing on how to repackage an unhealthy lifestyle. It is like having to choose between Frosted Flakes and Fruit Loops for breakfast when grapefruit or blueberries are better choices.

Prepare to sell you Ford stock. 3rd and 4th quarter financial report will be the worst since 2008.

The next 10 years might be OK, it’s after that that concerns me. In the short term automobile companies will need to build both gasoline and electric vehicles so they shouldn’t completely purge the staff. When EVs become more common and represent a larger share of their offerings they’ll likely need far fewer employees.
