i got laid off last year from this Miserable place, thank god best thing that ever happened to me. Now im going to file my taxes and realize that this company doesnt even know how to correctly withdraw money for the federal government. Now i have 6 months of back taxes for because of the POS company. I say this with all seriousness Run from Altice as fast as you can there is no light at the end of that dark dark abyss. F**k the money hungry snakes

So the money has vanished. Altice didn't pay the federal and you didn't get any of the money that they supposedly didn't pay. None of that makes any sense. If you look at your W-2, you don't see federal withheld? And if you do I wouldn't worry about if altice paid it or not. It's been withheld and that's your only concern.
When you don't have deductions you end up paying more in Federal. If federal wasn't taken out of your severance you would obviously notice a difference. Bottom line is, you should've noticed that you were getting a few hundred more. He's basically saying they never took federal out and if you don't notice, that's basically on you. I certainly would have noticed the first check I got
your getting more because of less deductions....medical dental 401k etc...
It’s the opposite. Seems like I’m getting less than the take home amount . You would think it would be more with out any deductions

I'm not trying to be a jerk but how did you not notice that you were receiving way more in each severance check than when you were getting when you were employed?
