Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Cut HR, what do that they do that AI could not?

You gotta cut the people, sure, do your thing, why not but also cut HR. Throw them into the mix. We already have an HR chatbot, HR is removed. We already have a system that parses resume’s for key words, another thing that HR is removed from.

There’s not a single person I know who rely on or trusts HR. The only thing you can trust them for is to sit on job postings, sit on contacting job applicants, being vague and not responding. Given that, why keep them around? Cut HR, cut them deep and let AI do the rest.

After the layoffs are done and HR is finished their celebration and reveling in letting people go, then it should be their turn. Trim HR down and replace them.

HR is very much useless. A project manager friend of mine applied for a job at Citi.
Their experience was very extensive with major projects encompassing many millions of dollars. Citi HR quibbled over resume key words back and forth, meanwhile my friend also applied elsewhere. They ended up taking an offer at JPM at 175K.
Citi eventually, after dragging their feet for months, made an offer of 100K. My bud informed them they already took an offer made by JPM at 175K. Citi came back with a counter offer of 110K. How stupid is that?

Later you see a VOE questions of “Citi is competitive”, um….that’d be a resounding “No” for that one there Skippy.

At Citi, they redefine useless. But this is Jane’s fault for allowing HR to turn into what it is.

Go count the number of MDs there…even after the first round of layoffs. Dozens upon dozens.

They are a horrible waste of money.

HR has always been the Stasi for executive management and the investors of any company. They are the wellspring of virtue signaling and letting the peons know how inferior they are to the organization. In the end, most people (not all) who go the career route of HR are narcissist mo--ns with inferiority complexes. This place is no exception.

Its been proposed to MDs that HR be cut as the last batch of people. Instead of being useless at Citi, they can go somewhere else to be useless.

Why not trim HR down to the bone. I mean anyone with no training at all can be vague or ignore pleas for help. I always liked it when HR gives you a general link to a FAQ page and there’s nothing there to address your question or better yet, they give you a link that’s busted. Some real high quality HR service right there. LOL

cry us a river. someone keep getting rejected from opportunities?

you are only talking about recruitment and hr services. hr is much bigger than those two functions that make up less than 5% of hr headcount.
