Add 3 days RTO globally and the good ones with options outside Shell will leave without package.

@6zy

Deepwater in GOA looks to have been the worst hit.

With all these projects getting cancelled, Jaguar, Trinity, Rotterdam, are even more people going to be impacted in Speed?

So the Speed resourcing list was released with 282 jobs on the sheet. How many people impacted? How many chairs missing in this musical chairs exercise? Lots of jobs moving east it seems.

@6c6 Not all roles, but some. You can see the pay ranges listed in the Workday postings. The issue is they need to increase the Tier 1/Standard ranges more than they need to decrease the Tier 3. It’s been stagnant for 3 years and we can’t compete for external hires these days. But it’s all part of the plan to increase the natural attrition rate. Shell hates us employees

why is the organization not sharing impact numbers /percentage? I have to assume the impact is too large

It seems as if the “low performers” will loose their spot and the top performers keep theirs while inheriting the workload of those that were let go
The pay raise is probably to compensate them from loosing their sanity when the reality of keeping your job at the expense of triple the work load

The deepwater brownfield CSU/ORA spots that get posted were moved from Tier 3 pay to Tier 1/Standard pay. I wonder if any other jobs are getting the pay structure changed.

Heard more than 40% of P&T is at risk and will need to apply for jobs. Not all will exit Shell ... Still, big impact for the team.

Lol the Dutch works council is a joke nowadays, many council members left in 24 because of realization that they just have to follow orders.

So many staff wanted the package but were mapped. Shell nl was even scared to give voluntary severance at first. So many wanted to leave. I feel sorry for those who still have to deal with stress and poor india teams and india managers and will get a nothing package after 2025.

The package with agreement on not being negative make everyone leave quietly.

You will only see how you were brainwashed after leaving this empty Shell. LAS FTW

The Netherlands package has always been different than the US package. The pay in the Netherlands is also about half of that in the US for the same job grade. BUT, there are far far far more protections for a job in the Netherlands compared to the US. Ever hear of their staff council delaying or setting the time of a layoff? There isn't a staff council in the US or for the US. Remember how often there would be a Dutch expat right after or even though there were layoffs in the US? Or remember how often the layoffs were much more sever in the US and Canada than in the Netherlands. The Netherlands does unemployment differently and health insurance differently too. Yes, the Netherlands package is shrinking. More often in the past the Dutch have been in a place of privilege due to nationality; it is hard to pity the privileged.

@zw please tell us more. Is Wael really reducing packages. I guess he has his 20 million $ bonus to protect, but seriously is this the way it is going? If it is, workers need to get organised and set up unions to protect ourselves. The package is what keeps folks quiet when these random and completely random re-orgs happen, but if they are not going to be around things need to change.

@10h+1k2m79b7j

it’s all a smokescreen

leadership wants to try to keep their job by kicking these off

they don’t want the average worker to realize that the oil industry is permanently shrinking and won’t ever come back to its current size

If upheavals, layoffs and reorgs keep happening one on top of the other, how does anyone know if anything worked? Or maybe that’s the idea - constant change gives the outward appearance that things are getting done. AKA - executive busy work

@bz as hard as being laid off is, there is no evidence of packages being anywhere close to the statutory minimum, far from it - stop making stuff up, you just create anxiety for your colleagues who may be at risk

Hearing friends of mine who are impacted. I was let go before Speed26 - would have liked to make it to some musical chairs. I assume Speed26 is going to be a bloodbath as Shell doesn’t have any Deepwater projects in the pipeline.

Wael has told hr to do it in a stealth mode and not to care about people but follow the min requirements according to the law. Please shard what is really happening so that we can all understand and try to help.
Wael cares about his pay packet. Staff are just an inconvenience to be used. Numbers not people.

Its quiet as they don't want to stir the pot right before the Shell People Survey comes out.

If there is a ki-ler among us, does it matter if they are given a catchy call name? It is still happening, they're just quieter about it.
The thing that distinguish whether or not a lay off has a name is if there is some YAHOO who writes up a set of change parameters. For example in reshape some AR$3 wrote up Phoenix guidelines. Then for the next layoff an even worse a$$hole wrote a guideline called the 5 Business Imperatives. Basically, there is a JG1to JGA with delusions of grandeur and they think that writing such a thing impresses the SEG. Then they usually fail to share it. Previous examples: Must wins, Pheonix, Business imperatives. They're all failures and supposed guidelines why this next cut is done correctly. But get this, those guys/gals don't even read the last one so they don't know why or if it is different than the past. The arrogance is staggering.
So TLDR: of course they are still firing people. The people who are fired are just as fired as if the process had a name. The delay is that the kiss-up hasn't finished their manifesto to explain why this is the greatest thing for Shell.
