For the senior guys, stock grants matter. They take years to vest, and then need to be held to retirement to limit income tax losses. There is actually a prettt good incentive for leadership to work for a higher stock price.
Maintaining shareholder value disappeared with the downturn. Very unlikely to return as it's an old boys club now.

As long as bonuses are paid, the management is happy. Who cares about share prices!!
