What's happening with layoffs? Any news?

I would agree with staying where you are as a someone who recently joined. Lot going on inside that is hard to believe.
Sadly, I think the last poster had it correctly.
West Des Moines, IA - I believe that office was largely pension and benefits. Since ADP has eliminated most of the pension it is not surprising that that office might no longer be needed. Sad to see the company crumble.
I would stay with Equifax. ADP has major problems and is in a world of hurt. There is no future worth having at ADP. This company does not value its employees anymore and just wants to save on labor costs above everything else. Just read all the posts on this site and you will see that ADP isn't a good employer anymore, just an unstable company with serious problems.
I got the offer from adp for july joining date ,is it safe to join ADP i heard adp is laying off lot off people is that true Now i am thinking twice because my current job is with equifax which is very stable right now and good job
Agreed 100%: Layoffs = Bad management
Simple Answer: Layoffs are always due to failed/bad management and vision through the years. It is a false belief that the business just magically became in bad or bloated shape without any culpability of the executive management.
Truth is layoffs to fix bad management decisions never work. In the case of ADP, it is highly visible that decisions are not working and thus more and more bailing to try to avoid taking on water and sinking. Rodriquez's fear is becoming reality but not in spite of his efforts but because of bad judgement, leadership, and vision.
@2ifd+15uvnKeB Did they give any information on why? I’m sure it is all about money of course. We’re only those in the office told about this?
It was also announced the west des moines iowa is closing. No date was given just that associate would not be returning to the office.
More loans for ADP? What are they doing?
@1als+15uvnKeB It’s RPO in Ohio. Granted that business in not truly part of greater ADP. No clue why they haven’t sold it. Good business if it had competent leadership. But current GM is clueless. Her solution to everything is offshoring and business is dying as biggest clients leave every few mos.
@zda+15uvnKeB Care to share which location that is?
Well, a loan of that size... there is only one thing: It is a "bridge" from current state to future state. Let me explain. ADP took out a huge loan similar to that in 2016 and that was in preparation for payouts of mass layoffs (15000-20000) that they have been executing on. My belief is another loan is sign of huge problems for ADP. Likely some is to fund the deficit in the pension funding requirements (they are considered underfunded currently). Some is likely to pay for horrible aquisitions and decisions (for example Benefits Mall, etc.) Some is likely to continue the layoffs of more people who have been there more than 8 years. And some is likely to pad the pockets of Carlos and his strokers that have helped execute the plan. One thing for sure: A loan of that size if not to give employees bonuses or raises! Get ready for the next round of unbelievably bad decisions and more employee dissatisfaction. Oh, and btw, the last 2+ billion dollar loan resulted in a downgrade of ADP by Moodys.
What is the deal with the $3.8BN loan they just took? Is that normal? Latest SEC filing from 3 days ago
The fear culture is a side benefit of these neverending layoffs. From my experience with ADP, this company thinks that frightened employees are very productive employees.

@emk+15uvnKeB Where were they/location/department? I wonder why they didn’t put out a notice?
@foo+15uvnKeB I would not be surprised if there were. I know of one office that held 600 employees has cancelled their lease and is only planning to keep open, half of the building (which holds about 300). There were many furloughs in that specific office, I anticipate those people being completely laid off when their furlough ends.
I heard of a few last week. With fiscal around the corner, more wouldn't be surprising. Plus, if you lay small groups off all year-round, you can create a fear culture where everyone is so fearful of losing their jobs, they learn to will tolerate the intolerable and somehow even be grateful for it.
Seems a bit too quiet here for my taste.
